Guest guest
Is there a way to make the gelatin without honey or fruit juice? I ask because I suspect a candida overgrowth and don't want to feed any bad guys. Can you make it with water? I know it's bland, but maybe it will be somewhat filling? Maybe Kim could answer this... what can I substitute the juice with? You can make it with yogurt. Or coconut yogurt. Or what aboutusing carrot and garlic juice, which is an anti-candida remedy. I make gelatin with meat broth -- properly made gelatin will gel on its own, but if you want it really firm, you can add Knox to it. You can puree meat with broth and add the gelatin, or meat, broth, and cooked vegetables with gelatin and get an aspic-like food which is both nutritious and easy to digest. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
So you just let the Knox sit in the broth till it gels? __________________________________________________________________ CD SCD 6 months Lialda, Purinethol Freeda Vitamins, L. Guest guest
I make knox gelatin with water I just follow the instructions. I boil some, and put a little cool water in a pyrex glass container, add the gelatin powder, then when it's dissolved I add the hot water, and stir. It works perfectly normally doesn't taste bad either, I don't think Best, So you just let the Knox sit in the broth till it gels? __________________________________________________________________ CD SCD 6 months Lialda, Purinethol Freeda Vitamins, L. No. I sprinkle the Knox on a small amount of cool broth and let it soften. Then I put that in the top of my double boiler and heat it over steaming water until the gelatin melts completely. I then add the remainder of the broth, and make sure everything is blended together. Then I pour it into snap top containers and chill it. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
