Guest guest
Okay, people, I tried to get this off the main board and deal with privately. So much for that . . . After some deep soul searching, I have come to the conclusion that you are right. I am threatened. I am threatened by misinformation. That misinformation is that the pylorus is not very important. I am threatened by the fact that a doctor is telling her patients something that literature doesn't substantiate. You must feel a bit insecure yourself if you have to resort to tossing out a red herring dealing with what you might do if all the doctors changed their minds tomorrow. Do you expect that is going to happen? Be serious. Let's keep the information on this board a bit more accurate. , no matter how well reasoned your next post about this might be, I am ending discussion from my end. Guest guest
, I wish what you were saying were true, but it is not. Most people do NOT have the option of choosing another DS doctor! In fact, if YOU lived in CA YOU would have the option of RNY or VBG BUT NOT DS because YOU have BCBS! I had one choice of DS surgeons, period. I hated him. When I tried to go out of network I was told by my insurance (not BC) to go suck an egg. Now there is a 2nd surgeon in my network, so I MAY get lucky, but probably I'll have to fight with my insurer to have DS at all. And if I lived in a remote area of CA, or in a state with no DS surgeons at all, I might be stuck with some other surgery or even NO surgery unless i could afford to self-pay. I have heard this notion of having other options bandied about quite a bit. It simply is not true for most of us!
