Guest guest
Dear Theresa, I made these statements based on MY own personal feelings. I did not thoroughly research WLS and Pregnancy because honestly, I really do not think I want to have any more kids anyway (I have a son, 10 yrs. and a daughter, 8 yrs.) When I hear WLS post-ops who have complications (low protein, iron, etc.), I just know that if they wanted to have a baby, they couldn't or shouldn't. IMHO, the LapBand would be the only option FOR ME if I was childless and knew in my heart that I absolutely wanted a baby. The LapBand has no malabsorption and can be adjusted easily. Nutritionally, it would be the best surgery FOR ME if I wanted to have a baby. Pure speculation and gut feeling on my part. I am not in the situation to decide anyway since I am a post-op Lap BPD/DS and I already have two wonderful children.
