Yes, with the DS you keep the lower half of your stomach. Instead of

your stomach being divided with a horizontal cut it is divided with a

more or less vertical cut. It is actually a semi-circular cut along

the greater curvature. You end up with a hot-dog shaped stomach.

You keep the top half and the bottom half. You merely lose the left half.

ok.....chris.....one more thing.......can you tell me what the difference is

between RNY and DS? I am waiting for a date.....and Im getting confused

about these two surgeries.....if you dont mind. You seem to know alot on

this subject. Thanks for helping! Ducey
