Guest guest
Geroge, there are people on the insurance authorization group through Yahoo doing just what you proposed. They are trying to change legislation to insure WLS/DS for everyone. You can access the site at the following address and check the archives for more information. I joined this month, so you could probably just read the last few weeks of posts to get an idea. Guest guest
These reports of our peers being denied WLS are very disturbing. As I see it someone or group needs to establish the value of DS as a viable weight loss surgery. At the moment NIH sees this surgery as experimental in nature. We have a lot of anecdotal evidence to the value of this surgery. Maybe we as a group could invest sometime and energy in quantifying this operation. I think a good place to start would be with our own Surgeons to get their take on what statistics need to be looked at and formulate a questionaire for our group. This might be a good place to start. Anyone interested? Regards,
Guest guest
This sounds like an interesting project. I wonder if there's a way to find out at what point does the NIH consider a procedure NOT experimental?? heidi http://www.mywls.com > These reports of our peers being denied WLS are very disturbing.
