It's people like you who are helping me get through my depression.

I'm an artist, I paint wildlife, landscapes, and flowers.

I haven't painted for some time, kept asking myself "WHY"

But now I know............thanks for reminding me.

Have you looked for any sign of a date stamp yet? You won't find one. Good for you for going on with your life. It took about 3 years for my husband to accept what I had been telling him and for me to stop being in denial about what could happen. And that was before the Evin Twin blew out. My life is my own and does not belong to any of my diseases or et als. My life, my choice. And I choose to be happy. I find I am more compassionate with everybody in my life, even checkout girls at Wal-Mart. I enjoy watching a squirrel play outside my window at work. Sometimes there is a bird that sits on my windowsill and checks me out. Wonder what he thinks about me? His eye in on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. You may be a bit like me, not in painting, but I find some of the things

that I enjoy indoors and sitting, I'm sort of saving. While I can get

out and about and do other things, I'm doing as much of them as

possible. Meanwhile I'm glad I have indoor, simpler activities that I

can look forward to enjoying when I have less mobility.

Until I have no other choice, I will try to focus on being who I am and doing all of the things that define me. I may be unaware of all that faces me, but I am not in denial of the future but in reality who really knows the future? I look forward to the support and help of this group in preparing me and advising me.

I agree that the challenges of our health can serve to make us better people. It has certainly humbled me.

Thanks for your input.

Bettye,

I have said this before in this group: These are the best 4 years of my life. At

no time in my life have I found more love than now from friends and family. Just

now I am visiting with friends, who have opened up their hearts and lives to me.

Now I have the time to spend with my family that I would not have had, had I

lived that busy life of yesterday. I have spent many wonderful weeks with my Mom

and Dad, who are still living. That could not have happened had I stayed in

working all those hours and being too tired to care.

If you want them to be, these can be wonderfully memorable times which you may

have never lived. When I was in the hospital, my friend Flo was there day and

night, and she and Steve are still here making this life the best. When others

reach out, take their hand, and each day will be lived to the fullest, with more

love than you can imagine.
