Guest guest
But, guess what?! I have a toxoplasmosis parasite! First, so glad you found a doctor you trust and are feeling better! That's great that you're finding what works for you. Second, how did she know to test for the parasite? What are the symptoms? Would it show up on any other test, or do you have to do the saliva test? It sounds interesting, if you can have it for a long time and not even know it. I'd like to be sure I have no other underlying problems other than the UC!! Guest guest
Hi Guys Well, note the HIGH ALKALINE WATER!!! VERY VERY WONDERFUL; THIS IS WHAT I AM TRYING TO COMMUNICATE TO YOU ALL. SINCERELY THE ALKALINE GIRL Subject: New Naturopath Dr. and feeling better!!To: BTVC-SCD Date: Thursday, April 22, 2010, 12:56 PM Hi All,I have some good news! I called a Naturopath Dr. about 2 weeks ago and she did some saliva testing on many things and of course gluten was way off the chart as an intolerance but all other foods were good!! I feel pretty confident in the results since gluten showed up. But, guess what?! I have a toxoplasmosis parasite! I could have gotten it from my drinking water, a wild cat i had for a short while about 5 years ago (i changed her litter box - she was an outside cat though) or under cooked or raw meat or raw goat milk (i only pasteurized it to 110 degrees a few times to try and keep the enzymes - that was before i read Elaine doesn't recommend that...ugh!) . I really think the raw goat milk is a slim possibility because i was getting it from a very good source. I googled toxoplasmosis found out (and my Dr. said also) it can be contracted from many things and that you can have it for a while. So, she is treating it with some homeopathic meds and will keep testing every month until i no longer have it and then she'll work with me to build up my immune system and nutrition. She's awesome!! I feel better than i have in a long while so i feel really good about it. I've had her no. for a few years from a nutritionist friend and just haven't called since insur. doesn't cover. She also has me drinking 48 oz. of alkaline water a day and that's helped me to feel lots better. She gave me 3 different brands that are good (Essentia, Penta and Evamore). I'm drinking Essentia - it has the highest ph level of all 3 (9.5). I think it's helped a great deal - she said my system was very acidic.I tried some fruit yesterday (strawberry (peeled seeds off and blended with 8 oz water) first thing in the am and then about 9:30 am 1/2 ripe banana - i knew i shouldn't have had both but i was overly excited at feeling better i guess!). Later i had gas but i had a bm right after lunch and the gas/pain went away but this morning my stomach was sore and i don't feel as good as i have (but i'm feeling better now at lunch time). I also had dehydrated some kale and ate a few pieces of it yesterday ( i know, shame on me!) so it could have been that but i'm back on track today - one thing at a time! She had said my yeast was ok so hopefully it's just the parasites causing all the troubles (besides eating gluten for 44 years and being oblivious to the intolerance! )....i sure hope so. My upper right side pain has pretty much gone and cutting back on the animal protein has helped it some i think. I've been able to add steamed cabbage, kale and baked zucchini lately with no problems...yay! And i even had about a spoon full of 4 hour cooked, pureed carrots with no problems. I've done a search on toxoplasmosis on here and pecanbread and got some info. but i'm going to look again - i haven't had time to read much. My Dr. recommended getting a reverse osmosis water filter for drinking water. I'd like to get one for the whole house if it's not too pricey. I've done a little research and APEC seems to be good. I'll check on consumer reports. OH and thanks anonymous for the Healing with Whole Foods book recommendation. I've started it and have read the section on food combining and i'm incorporating it also. It seems to be helping. I want to try fruit again soon and i'll try it in the morning again with nothing else. I've been eating chicken or fish first during my meals and then my green veggies and then my romaine lettuce salad at the end. I think i've had less belching afterwards! :)SCD - 18 monthsSCD anti candida - 5 monthsGluten sensitive - 01/08Working with a new Naturopath Dr. and am making progress! 04/06/
Guest guest
Hi Terry, Yes, the alkaline water has helped me a great deal! I make sure i get my 48 oz. in every day! It hydrates me better and i have more energy and more frequent and less hard bm's! The cleansing capsules are helping the bm's also. Do you make your own or do you buy it? I'm researaching reverse osmosis water filters before i purchase one. Guest guest
Hi : So glad you are doing well. And the more you put alkaline into your system, that will begin to discharge the acidity which is piled up in your lymph and cells and that is the beginning of true health. You might try asking your doctor about Chlorophyll - I make a green drink every day and put 2 oz of liquid chlorophyll into it and that is wonderful for the bowels. Ask her also about a rebounder, which is a wonderful exerciser and sort of bounces the intestines and gives them elasticity. That will also help you go and has proved to be marvelous for me. I am still trying to research the water machines. They are quite pricey. Somewhere around $1100 by the time you buy the filter you must also use. Let me know what you find out and I will do the same. Guest guest
Hi Jodi, It's ultra purified, ionized water that has electrolytes. On my essentia water bottle it says: " Water purified by reverse osmosis; infused with elecrolytes for taste; alkalinized and restructured using Ionic Separation Technology. The ingredients are: purified water, sodium bicarbonate, dipotassium phosphate, magnesium sulfate and calcium chloride. I ordered it on-line through essentiawater.com. I decided on the essentia since it had the highest ph (9.5). From what i've read the ionization spins the water somehow i think and it changes the molecules or structure of it and makes them finer so it rehydrates your cells better. The other 2 brands she gave me that i could use was evamore (8 ph) and penta(4 ph). They are all 3 good i think and i found them all at 2 Health food stores and penta i found at the Fresh Market. Essentiawater.com has free shipping and i knew i'd be drinking 48 oz. per day for a while so i went ahead and ordered some. The health food stores didn't carry that much but said they could order it for me. It's really helped me to feel much better. My Dr. said my system was very acidic. I've read the alkaline water helps to detox as well which will help my body rid the toxoplasmosis. I'm trying out food combining also and so far so good. My Dr. said only to eat poultry, cold water fish, eggs (which i'll try soon), and fresh fruit and veggies right now. Which was pretty much all i was eating except for the eggs and fruit. I've been able to introduce papaya and a few more veggies lately (cabbage, kale, swiss chard). I'm trying mango tomorrow - i hope it goes well. I hope you're doing well! > > > > > > > > > From: ibbi64 <ibbi64@> > > > Subject: New Naturopath Dr. and feeling better!! > > > To: BTVC-SCD > > > Date: Thursday, April 22, 2010, 12:56 PM > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > > I have some good news! Guest guest
Hi Jodi, I forgot to mention that i think there are drops or something you can put in water (probably reverse osmosis water) and it will give you a high ph water and i've read also there are water ionizers you can purchase. I've read something about some alkalizing sticks you can put in your water also. I need to do more research. My Dr. said i should only have to drink the alkaline water for about a month but that it's important to have clean drinking water with a reverse osmosis filter. I don't know if i'll need the alkaline water long term or not - maybe i can keep my ph level alkaline without it but i don't know. One of the health food stores near me a while back was talking about it and i think they had an ionizer in their store or had the drops or something but i didn't find out much about it. I'm going to call them and ask them about it. Guest guest
Hi Terry, Thanks so much for the information and encouragement! I started back juicing some greens (lettuce, kale) mixed with water and that seems ok and seems to help. I haven't the last 3-4 days but i'll start back....great that chlorophyl helps move the bowels! I guess the greens might have enough chlorophyl - probably what you're using has more. I have a rebounder and love to use it - i had read that it's good for the immune system but wasn't sure why and i had started back a little on it before i started my new treatments and it did seem to help me go. Thanks for the info! I'll ask my Dr. about it and maybe start back using it. I've found that APEC reverse osmosis filters seem to meet the requirements that's recommended in buying a good one - have you come across this brand? I'll let you know if i find out anything more. I'm drinking Essentia - it has the highest ph level of all 3 (9.5). Guest guest
Hi I am so thrilled for you! Now that the water is working, everything else should take hold little by little. The important thing is the PH. I want to tell you about a water machine that I have found and am using for about 3 weeks now. Basically, I bought it because IT IS CHEAP AND DOES THE JOB. It is called "Roxtract" and was made by a Japanese doctor and they are very smart. The PH of the water is about 7, and is not so, so, great, but it does make structured alkaline water and very clean, and the molecular structure is very good, making minute minerals, so that the cells can pull it into them, whereas in normal water, the minerals are too large and are not absorable. I think it is called "ionic minerals" that it makes. This is the whole thing. the molcular structure of the water. You have to fill it by hand with your sink water and then add 1 tsp per gallon of the minerals that you buy from them. But as I said, compared to the prices of the others, this is really cheap. If you are interested, I have the man that I bought it from, and he gives you further perks if you purchase from him, he will reduce the shipping charge and will reduct the price of the minerals when you need them. He is really good to work with. Anyway, let me know if I can get you any further information. Terry Subject: Re: New Naturopath Dr. and feeling better!!To: BTVC-SCD Date: Saturday, April 24, 2010, 9:54 PM Hi Terry,Thanks so much for the information and encouragement! Guest guest
Hi , I was feeling very good for a good stretch and I was in and out of town a lot. I caught a bacteria in water (you think I was in Mexico or something- heh...) called " Aneromas Hydrophila " anyway the going hypothesis is that it's my water filter system that caused this.. This bug really only effects the immune compromised. Anyway, I was on antibiotics and feel better and now I am back on LDN (held off on it since I need to go into surgery again for incisional hernia- probably after summer) but I am feeling so much better- LDN is amazing for me! Just one day of it and I immediately feel better. So, I set up water delivery to my house. I have been reading about home/residential water filteration systems and I am going to just nix the whole thing. I remember years ago there were oxygen drops to add to water. I don't want to drink out of plastic bottles long term. If you come across drops or something please send it to me off-list so I can look into it. Thanks! Guest guest
At the risk of being unpopular ;-), here is a link that goes into great detail debunking alkaline water (as well as those detoxifying foot baths). Never hurts to read both sides! http://www.chem1.com/CQ/ionbunk.html Also, it says it you really want alkaline water, adding baking soda will give a ph of around 8.4. And if you really want a machine to make alkaline water, they have a link on how to do so for under $100. Guest guest
Holly, Nah.. you unpopular? Nevah! I mean I use lemon water daily for this purpose. I want to stay away from all types of water machinery. I have an online friend that swears by the foot detox. I think all of this stuff is highly individual really. Who knows anyway? Guest guest
Holly, How are you with Salt? Do you retain a lot? What about that time of the month? I retain salt but find if I put a half a teaspoon of himalayan salt (that I buy the huge crystals and then make a solution) in my strained lemon water (I need to watch fiber intake post surgery) It really helps my adrenal function and really tames teh constant need to pee. Guest guest
Hi Jodi, Sorry that you caught the bacteria. It is scary not knowing which is the best kind of water to drink when you have a compromised immune system. Toxoplasmosis can be fought off by those with a healthy immune system from what i've read. Hopefully our systems are getting stronger though. I'll let you know if i find out anything more about drops or anything. I'm hoping to go to the Health food store soon and ask them about it. Guest guest
Thanks Holly for the link. That is interesting. I know i researched water filters years ago and could never figure out a good one to get so didn't get one. There's so much info. out there. I think the alkaline water has helped me along with the meds my Dr. prescribed to kill the parasite. She had said i would probably only need to drink the alkaline water for about a month or so while i'm detoxing and getting rid of the parasite. But that it was important to make sure i drink clean, purified water with a reverse osmosis filter system. Hopefully i'll be able to figure out a good one to purchase. It is good to read both sides as you said...thanks! > > > > Hi , > > > > I was feeling very good for a good stretch and I was in and out of town a lot. > > > > Thanks! > > Jodi > > >
