Guest guest
Hi Joyce-R!Glad to hear the good news and I'll keep praying for her to improve. Thanks for the info on dog toys made in China, never thought about that. Buy America, right-on! I don't even buy my dog, Toby, toys anymore because he chews them up in a matter of seconds! After we play ball I have to put up his tennis balls because he'll chew those up too. Crazy mutt, but I love him, he is my BFF right now. The second test is in and it showed improvement in her platelets and though they are low she can clot now! Thank you so much for your prayers. Keep praying though! Her red blood cells are in bad shape. Her red blood cells are immature and the vet says that is a sign of something wrong with the bone Marrow. She said it could just be something spontaneous that happened and it will just disappear or it could be something as ominous as caner. She has sent her blood slide to a pathologist who will read it on Monday. She said she gave her a shot of prednisone yesterday and to be on the safe side she has given her an antibiotic to take for 14 days because an infection can cause this too. She said her blood work didn't show a infection so this is just to make sure.......She said she may have to have extensive testing and that will be a real burden but it has to be done...The vet asked me if I had anything that could possibly have lead in it that she chewed and I said no. She asked me if I had any dog toys painted from China...and I said No but will throw out all my dog toys from China just to be safe! I will also get rid of any dog food I have that wasn't made in America with American ingredients. God knows what can end up in our dogs food! I just changed them from Merrick to another dog food and am not sure about it. Anyway, thank you so much for your prayers and I request you keep praying! Guest guest
Thank you all for your prayers! They have been partially answered. Her blood platelets are now normal but her red blood cells are immature and she is going to have to have a sonagram of her abdomen to see what's going on. Please, keep Cassie in your prayers that it is something treatable! Also,l I don't think I told you that Last week I adopted a Cockapoo as a medical emergency because she was dying. Her owners were not treating her for Diabetes and she had a raging Kidney infection. The Phoenix recuse pleaded for someone who knew about diabetes in dogs and I have a wonderdog, Sebastian, who is diabetic and when I heard that they could not treat her or care for her and she was dying I rescued her. She has been deathly ill and is a 9 year old Cockapoo. Today for the first time she was playing with Nickolas my youngster and she followed me into the bedroom when I laid down. She is going to live! Of course she is nine, a Senior citizen and she is diabetic so she will have to remain with me. She is not adoptable. but...that's ok with me. Several of my friends are pissed at me because I have so little money but I couldn't let her die. Her initial medical treatment was $355 but an animal rescue here has graciously given me $250 towards the bill and I almost cried. It was so generous of them! I have t o pay the balance and further testing that she will need but she is alive!!!! I am so thankful to god and his angels! I am sure Sasha and I had an angel looking over us! I just knew it was the right thing to do. She is a sweet and loving dog and gets along well with my other dogs and she loves to be cuddled and today her tail was wagging all day! I am so happy for her! Joyce Rudy AZ Birds
