Guest guest
, There isn't too much you can do food and drink wise to prepare for your coming home from surgery because everything is so different afterwards. Things you used to like may sound nasty after surgery. Just make sure you have plenty of water, some Gatorade, jello, popsicles, cottage cheese for protein, or some other sources of protein, etc. Oh, yogurt is good too (or so I hear, I personally don't like yogurt). Another thing I advise is to get your house in order. Do some cleaning! I couldn't do house cleaning for at least 3-4 weeks after I got back home, you won't feel like doing much at all. (Are you having lap or open? I had open surgery.) Anyway, good luck and god bless! Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome! Who is your surgeon? Did s/he give you any instructions for prep? There is a lot of information in the archives of this list. You can search or just browse through the message titles. There are also copies of Dr. Hess' and Dr. Rabkin's patient binders at: http://www.duodenalswitch.20m.com/Procedure/procedure.html Those have lots of instructions for what to do/bring/expect, but they are tailored to their patients so you should double-check with your surgeon. Good Luck,
Guest guest
CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is encouraging... My brother has a consult w/ Dr. Anthone on Nov. 17 has UHC,select plus, pos. Hope it goes as easy for him. One thing I regret not doing is hiring a housekeeper for a month postop. I did do this with my plastic surgery and it is SUCH a big help!! You can buy a bag of balloons and blow! Work those lungs! Get the blood flowing. You'll be fine! 11/6 is just around the corner.... will look for your surgery story! Take care for now.. heidi http://www.myWLS.com
