Guest guest
,Farmer's cheese is almost like a blue or feta (illegal) cheese but it's packed into a single block. It's hard to describe. Look herehttp://www.friendshipdairies.com/products/summary_farmer_cheese.phpthen click on "where to buy" in the top right corner of the page. If that doesn't help then you can buy it online herehttp://www.parkeastkosher.com/kosher.cfm/Dairy-Cheese-Farmer-Friendship-Farmer-Cheese_205-335There are other cheaper places to buy online but I can't find them at the moment. My husband and I have been on the diet for about 2 weeks now. What is the consistency of DCCC cheese, I can't seem to find it anywhere, but not quite sure what I'm looking for, if I recall farmer's cheese is kind of the consistency of ricotta or cream cheese. (can't find that either) What I am really wondering is if yoghurt or kefir cheese would be a suitable substitute in recipes for DCCC. Thanks! Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy. I used well-drained yogurt for everything. Kefir is an advanced food, not suitable after only two weeks. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
I've also seen DCCC in a 3lb. loaf but with the same label as the 7.5oz. bars. It comes in salted and unsalted. It's 'squeezable' not like some of the hard white cheeses you see labeled Farmer's Cheese. There's also a brand where I live called J & J and the writing is in two languages, same exact label as Friendship and made in the same location. Guest guest
We ended up finding it in our local Whole Foods (a.k.a. Wild Oats). Are any of these nearby http://www.wholefood.com/stores/louisiana/index.php ? One of the smaller health conscious chains in our area though was willing to start placing orders for us, so we might go that route and save the extra mileage. > >What is the consistency of DCCC cheese, I can't > >seem to find it anywhere, but not quite sure > >what I'm looking for, if I recall farmer's > >cheese is kind of the consistency of ricotta or > >cream cheese.
