Here is a recipe for White Bean Chicken Chili. I had some just the other day

and it's yummy. I didn't figure the protein count but it should be good. I

sometimes make it thinner with more chicken broth and you can add 1/2 c. of

cream if you like more cream based soups.

White Bean Chicken Chili

Ingredients:

2 T. olive oil

1 large onion, chopped

4 large garlic cloves, chopped

1 T. ground cumin

1 t. dried oregano

1/2 t. dried crushed red pepper

1 lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

3 15 oz. cans canellini beans (white kidney beans)

1 c. canned chicken broth

1 7 oz. can diced green chilies

Chopped jalapenos to taste

Grated cheddar cheese

Chopped fresh cilantro

Directions:

Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, and

dried red pepper. Saute 5 minutes. Push onion to 1 side of pan. Season checken

with salt and papper and add to pan. Saute chicken approximately 5 minutes.

Drain beans; reserve 1/2 cup bean liquid. Add beans, broth, chilies, jalapenos

and reserved bean liquid to chicken. Simmer until chicken is tender and cooked

through, about 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. (Can be

prepared 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate. Reheat before using.) Ladle chili

into bowls. Top with cheese and sprinkle with cilantro.

Im almost a year out on the 15th and only have 15 lbs to go. My surgeon

told me it was ok to drink with my meals and I always have. I think people

have to be careful of those things alot more with the RNY than with the

DS......remember, with the DS you are not restricted on the foods you eat

except for sugar and simple carbs.... and those in moderation wont hurt you.

Judie,

Check out chili (made with chicken, beef or turkey-in that category, 's

chili is pretty high in protein and tasty as well-I can't get more than the

small size in, though) and other bean soups. I think clam chowder is also

high in protein (if you can't tolerate dairy, try Manhattan style).

Hey guys......

Ive fallen in LOVE with SOUPS! Had some for lunch with crackers and the

soup alone was 5 grams of protein.....very filling too! I think split pea

soup is much higher in protein than most others.....wish there was a soup

with 20 grams of protein!

Judie =)

I open a can of soup every other day and eat half each day ofr

breakfast. I used to put protein powder on it but that sent me

gagging after while. I love soup and have been wondering what I

could add to get more protein.

if you are eatin cream of whatever soups, then try adding powdered

milk to the soup for extra protein. probably tastes better than the

protein powder?
