Guest guest
, If you are anything like me and my friends, once you have surgery, going too long without eating brings on nausea. Therefore, it is imperative to eat every few hours. Trust me, you won't want to wait hours before eating in the morning! Not at first anyway. Now, I eat breakfast simply because I need to in order to get my protein in for the day. Now that you mention it, I remember I used to feel kind of nauseated in the am and never ate breakfast, but that is definitely a thing of the past! Guest guest
Hey ! Sometimes I dont like breakfast so I will feast on a Luna bar around 10 am and then maybe a protein shake before noon.....then I make up for the rest of the protein for lunch and dinner, including snacks. If it gags you to eat breakfast then dont worry about it....maybe you could make a protein shake like I do that tastes close to the starbucks carmel frappe!! (with sugarfree carmel flavoring, of course!) But, you might be suprised that after surgery you just might like having breakfast! So, dont sweat it! I was just wondering, I never eat breakfast...ever. I never ate breakfast either. But shortly after surgery (at about 2 weeks) I noticed that if I didn't eat right away my tummy would hurt and I'd feel sick. If I ate right away it helped the nausea and everything. But now I'm 7 1/2 months out and I never eat breakfast again. LOL Once in a while I get too hungry and will eat an egg or two and sometimes I fix a protein shake, but I usually just wait till mid-morning or even til lunch and eat. But I'm a night person and I stay up late and eat late. I've lost 105 lbs. so I don't think it's affected my loss either. Jackie
Guest guest
I used to avoid breakfast but now cannot make it through the morning without something in my tummy.. you should at least drink a CIB for the protein. If you go too long without eating, you will feel nauseated. Dont worry, you'll feel like eating in the morning most likely. Love, Sue Post op 9/11/01 Dr. Warden ocean sps, ms > Hi again. Guest guest
Breakfast was not a meal for me before surgery. I now eat breakfast. Your body needs those nutrients. You can eat anything not just breakfast food. I like cheese and crackers in the morning-easy and good. I eat all kinds of proteon but I think it is very important with this surgery. I usually eat myfirst meal about 10 or 11...and I sometimes eat breakfast such as eggs etc or lunch...depends on the mood. My feeling is that as long as I'm gettin in my protein and supplements...who cares how I get it..meals, snacks or whatever.
