Guest guest
Jodi, Peptamen is predigested so it goes through their little systems faster since most of our kids have serious delayed gastric emptying. At least I think so! :-) I'm sure I'll be corrected if that is not the case, but I believe that is the advantage. It is also 30cal/oz and even comes with more calories if you use Peptamen 1.5. Sorry I don't know how many cals are in the 1.5 we just use regular Peptamen Jr. and love it!! Alyssa very rarely throws up nowadays!!! Judith, Let us know about the Peptamen with Fiber after you try it!! Wouldn't it be great not to have to use Miralax!! One less medication!!! I can hear the relief in your voice. That would be pretty nerve racking not knowing for sure whether you were going to be able to get the formula. Thank goodness for the nice Nestle guy! ) Wow, that is interesting about the Peptamen with fiber added. I would be interested to hear how it works for . You will have to keep us updated on how he is doing on it. What is the benefit of Peptamen formula? I have heard several of you guys using this, but I don't really know why or what the benefits are. is on Elecare 30 cal/oz. formula. Does Peptamen also have that many calories? Thank for any help you have to offer on the Peptamen and I am so glad that you got your problem solved! Awesome. ) Jodi R. , 3, RSS, J tube > Hi all, > > Emergency solved!! Guest guest
Hey Dayna, Are you sure that PeptaMin Jr is predigested?? I didn't think it was an elemental formula, but we don't use it, so I'm not sure. I thought the reason that Dr H liked the PeptaMin so well was that it is low in sugar, and formulated to be more easily digested, something to do with the osmolity??? Am I wrong?? Thanks for any info you have! Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 3 yrs 5 months old, 23#, 33 " , G-tube, GHT)
Guest guest
HI I was just following along on the site and my son is on peptamen JR. The back of the can says that it is a peptide based elemental diet for children with impaired GI function. The lipid blend contains an MCT?LCT ratio od 60/40 to enhance absorption and to meet the fatty acis recommendations for children what ever that means. , but it is lactose and gluten free. I hope this helps pcpets wrote: Hey Dayna, Are you sure that PeptaMin Jr is predigested?? I didn't think it was an elemental formula, but we don't use it, so I'm not sure.
