Guest guest
mary, i agree with you. that isn't that much food. but i think you do need to eat greater quantities of your protein foods and instead of starches, choose lower carb veggies. and maybe switch to 2% or whole milk - more fat, less sugar. and, every body is different. you may be eating a " perfect " meal plan, but your body just metabolizes differently than some others, resulting in slower than average wt loss? it's not an exact science. just push the protein, and have faith the surgery will work. let your body stop and " rest " every now and then. then the wt loss will start up again. and take the docs comments with a grain of salt. the surgery will prove itself eventually. don't fret. and if the scale isn't telling you what you want to " hear " , get out that tape measure! it won't lie to you! just look at my stats! 72.5 " gone in about 3 mos. hugs, mary y When I listed for my surgeon what > I had had for the day before, he thought I was eating too much. > > Here was my daily list that he said was too much > > Breakfast - 1/2 pancake, 1 slice bacon, 6 oz skim milk > Lunch - 3 oz chicken, steamed zucchini > Snack - 2 oz hamburger with melted cheese > Dinner - 1 oz pork chop, 1/4 cup mac and cheese, approx 2 tbs. corn, 6 oz > milk. > > To me that doesn't seem like too much. Guest guest
(in St. Louis) I know what you mean about measurements. I have noticed a great deal of inches disappear. I have switched now to whole milk (tastes better also) You know I watched you from the beginning (since we had the same doc and fairly close dates) Your stats are fantastic. It is hard not to compare, you know. But I still feel really good. Someday soon we are going to finally have to get together. When I saw Dr. Warden earlier this week, he told me that I didn't need bloodwork until 6 months. Were you told differently since you had 3 months labs done? It just seems odd. However, I still think Dr. Warden is wonderful and am so pleased that I had this surgery. He also told me that I didn't have to come back to Ocean Springs for a checkup unless I had any problems. So far everything looks really good. There goes my excuse to visit the beach on a regular basis! in KC Re: I am bummed out and need help./mary m in kc mary, i agree with you. that isn't that much food. but i think you do need to eat greater quantities of your protein foods and instead of starches, choose lower carb veggies. and maybe switch to 2% or whole milk - more fat, less sugar. and, every body is different. you may be eating a " perfect " meal plan, but your body just metabolizes differently than some others, resulting in slower than average wt loss? it's not an exact science. just push the protein, and have faith the surgery will work. let your body stop and " rest " every now and then. then the wt loss will start up again. and take the docs comments with a grain of salt. the surgery will prove itself eventually. don't fret. and if the scale isn't telling you what you want to " hear " , get out that tape measure! it won't lie to you! just look at my stats! 72.5 " gone in about 3 mos. hugs, mary y
Guest guest
mary in kc my dh is going to be in kc next tues thru thurs! but it's a business trip and the spouses aren't going. bummer. i think i'd rather do a weekend visit anyway. as far as when to do bloodwork, my instructions were from lifeshape not warden. and he said he wanted to see me back down there at 6 mos. that will probably be a nice trip in jan or feb to get away from the cold here in st.louis. i'm glad i had my 3 mo tests done because it caught my protein and vit d problems early. i'd be afraid that i could have really gotten sick if it wasn't caught til 6 mos. and most of the others that i have read about had their first labs at 3 mos also. anyone else out there not have labs done til 6 mos? don't tell anyone else that warden said you don't have to come back!!! just stick to your every 6 months checkup story and have a wonderful beach vacation! lol " sorry boss, but the surgeon said i absolutely HAVE to go " all that time in the sun is required for your vitamin d absorption. your health depends on it!!! that's my story and i'm stickin with it! mary y st.louis > (in St. Louis) > > I know what you mean about measurements.
