Guest guest
Hello to all our old buddies and you new ones too! I am sorry to say that we will not be making the convention this year. It has been a crazy year. As most of you know I lost my dad to cancer last month. (Storm DID get promoted to the next grade! A/B honor roll ALL year! No problems at all!!!!!) We currently have 4 foster children, two teenage boys aged 15, a 2 1/2 year old girl and a 10 month old boy! It is just not possible for us to get someone to watch the kids, for us to afford the trip, or even for us to bring the kids with us ( a judge has to approve out of state trips and the parents have to agree! NOT LIKELY!) Anyhow, I am totally bummed and will miss you all very much! Patti, tell Jon, Storm misses him and is also totally bummed that he can't be there. (hubby) is bummed to miss out on the poker night!!! To those of you who have not been to a convention, do whatever you can to go! It is so incredible to live in normal for only a few days! I mean, all the other kids, look like your kid, have the same problems, take shots, or throw up 5 times a day, or aren't eating!!! ..... What an amazing support group!!! And then of course there is meeting DR. H! Storm is bummed the most about that! HE LOVES HER!!! If it weren't for MAGIC, and Dr. H, I know he would not be on the growth chart today! (And he is at the 5% line for the first time in his life!!!) So, if it is at all possible, GO!!! I wouldn't trade our time there for anything in the world, and I will start planning now for next year!!! Blessings to you all and have a great time! Carmen, mom to Storm, RSS, 9y9m, 58.5 pounds, 49.5 inches!!! and Paisley, age 12 going on 18!!! and mom to a slew of others off and on! Guest guest
Carmen, That is too bad that you guys aren't going to be able to make the Convention. I didn't get a chance to meet you last year, but I would have loved to have met this year after hearing about all Storm has gone through, and you too. I am sure everyone you all have met will be dissapointed that you won't be there. But, like you said, start planning on next year. It seems like this past year just flew by. I can't believe it! I am glad to hear that Storm got promoted to the next grade. I remember reading your post where he had missed so many days and weren't sure they were going to let him go ahead. I was floored that they would make a big deal out of missing days. I mean, seeing how he was such a good student and that he got wonderful grades. Anyway, I am glad to hear the good news there. Carmen, God bless you for giving of yourselves by taking in foster children. That is so awesome and they are lucky kids to be with you. I hope you are doing well! Take care, Jodi R.
