Guest guest
Hi Penny, Just a heads up to let you know that we are on septic, too, and I stopped flushing Cottonelle wipes since our plumbing got clogged up by them. Of course, living in California we have low-flow toilets with not as much pressure, so that might make a difference. Cottonelle wipes are a great product, but can be a problem in the loo. Guest guest
Of course, living in California we have low-flow toilets >>>>>>>>> most all new homes nationwide all have low flo toliets.....they are a joke LOL We always end up flushing twice to get the dang things to go down! (especially those huge piles of post opt poop!) Are you speaking of cottonelle wipes or toliet paper clogging up the septic system? Guest guest
Hi Again, Judie, When I asked my husband what the plumber said about our clogged up lines, he said the guy told him there was a " whole bunch of cloth thingies packed in the opening to the septic tank " and everything was backed up behind them. It was definitely the Cottonelle wipes, not toilet paper. Needless to say I was forbidden by both the guys from ever putting them in the toilet again! I still use the wipes every day and love them, I just wrap them in a lot of tissue and put them in the trash. I use them for extra cleansing after I use tp, so there isn't a lot of you-know-what on them to cause odor. I got hooked on them after I had to have minor rectal surgery and have used them ever since. And, yes, we do have to flush twice with our wonderful low-flow toilets - so much for conserving water! Guest guest
Hi Judie, Actually, there isn't usually a problem with REAL low-flow toilets. From what I understand, when our glorious leaders decided to mandate the darn things, what most manufacturers did was to simply put a smaller tank on the existing toilets, thus cutting down on the pressure of the water in each flush. (Of course I found this out after we had ours installed.) Real low-flow toilets operate on a vacuum system and, although there is less water, there is more power behind it to flush things down the line. Of course, I don't have the REAL kind, so have to flush twice - just like everyone else who has them! Which means we use just as much water as we used to. That's government for you!
