Guest guest
Does anyone lose their voice when they cough a lot? That happens to me, and I love, love , love to talk. Also, I love to laugh, and every time I do, I cough my lungs up(not really). It just feels like it. KathySubject: Re: PF and DepressionTo: Breathe-Support Date: Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 5:36 AM Donna I'd go on and make the appointment. Normally counselors are fairly safe flu wise (unless they have huge crowded waiting rooms), especially if they don't do a lot of kids. In fact thats an appointment one with flu normally cancels. Also, my counselor is aware if she's sick to cancel with me. Glad your previous experience was good and so know that it will be positive for you again. > > > > I have been so overwhelmed since my 6 day hospital stay and being sent > home with oxygen. Guest guest
YES! Sometimes I think I cough up from my toes and then my voice goes. Sometimes my voice just feel strained anyway. I blame the roids. Just like I always do with whatever I feel like blaming them for. Guest guest
Yes, I tend to get raspy with coughing. Deep breathing only makes the coughing worse. The one thing that seems to help with coughing is the Target version of Halls cough drops. Those heavily mentholated ones. Now, please don't anyone tell me I shouldn't be using those! They are my constant companions in pocket, purse, on desk and anywhere I might find myself. The major problem is that too many of them get to my stomach, then requiring an antacid. I also sometimes use my albuterol inhaler and it seems to help for half an hour or more. Laughing out loud is a thing of the past unless I'm on a particularly wonderful streak of improvement. Not to worry though; those streaks never last very long. Mike “Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. Guest guest
i do not use o2 24/7, but when talking a lot, i need to wear it, otherwise i cough alot when coughing interfers with talking, stop talking until things calm down i know it's hard, i want to continue with whatever i am saying, jerry reminds to wait until it passes and will get the o2 for me i learned from Peggy, that a hot or warm drink might help -- that's if you can stop coughing long enough to drink it Pink Joyce R (IPF 3/06) IFA 5/09 Pennsylvania Donate Life Listed 1/09 Inactive 4/09 www.transplantfund.org--- Subject: Re: Cough and voice lossTo: Breathe-Support Date: Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 11:11 AM Does anyone lose their voice when they cough a lot? Guest guest
OK, here's the purse scoop... I carry a nice big one with a pocket I can reserve for cough drops, inhalers etc... I got it at the Animal Rescue Site which I visit every day to donate food for rescued animals and more. It is a legit charity and all proceeds go where they say they do... 100%! I never miss a chance to promote them so, here is the link:http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3The strong menthol from the cough drops seems to numb and relax the bronchi. I wish I had an inhaler that did the same without eating all those cough drops. Mike “Whatever you do, you need courage.
