That sounds pretty sound and self aware by way of spec.

Maybe try the probiotics every other day to see what happens.

The beginning of the diet always has gut instability as things are dying off and

other things are battling to take over. So it's all trial and error at this

point.

of

probiotics and some crazy changes in BMs. So, this is how it went: I started

with

1 Acidophillus capsule a day starting on Day 5, and I was constipated at the

beginning of the diet, but on Day 8 I had a bowel movement, and went a little

each day for about 5 days. I had also increased my constipation meds (Amitiza)

2 days before I had a BM and also started drinking prune juice and orange juice

in the A.M. On my 6th day of having BMs, I went about 3 times, and that time

was more brown than the previous BMs (which were thin and yellowish). At that

point, I had ambitiously gone up to 2 pills a day, both on an empty stomach.

That caused a lot of bloating, so despite my good day of BMs I figured it was

too much.

Where did you get your acedopholis (sp?) I need some, my D. has gotten worse -

just adding pearsauce has been the only new thing from the intro diet. You can

make yogurt from almond milk? How? Where to get the starter? This is all so

overwhelming!

ANy input would be amazing! Thanks THeresa

Thanks for the advice, Mara! yeah, I think I have it figured out, but I think I

needed to get it all written down just for my own sanity, haha. And I think

i'll try it every other day for now...

Theresa- It is overwhelming, but doable! And its actually kind of fun trying

new things, like making nut milk yogurt for instance...I got the starter from GI

Pro Health (http://www.giprohealth.com/yogurtstarter.aspx) it's dairy free. And

there's a recipe on pecanbread.com that I used. Basically what I did was blanch

almonds, put them in a blender with water for 10 minutes. Then I strained it

through a nut milk bag and squeezed out the milk, and then stirred in the

starter. Then, I put it in my makeshift yogurt maker and made sure the temp.

was between 100-105 degrees for 8 hours. I left it in the fridge overnight and

then I dripped it through the same nut milk bag, but I didn't end up with too

much. So I'm not really sure about that part. Anyway, here's the recipe:

http://www.pecanbread.com/new/recipes/almondyogurt.html

Oh and have you tried bananas? I think they're good for D. Maybe you can hold

off on the pearsauce for now. And also, the chicken soup has been amazingly

soothing and hydrating for me. And the electrolyte is really good for

dehydration too. This is what I make for myself every day:

Boil 2 cups of water

stir in 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon sea salt

1 Tbsp

Good luck!
