Guest guest
Hi Lee Anne, 1) It is my understanding that GH WILL help our kids to be taller than they would be without GH. But our children won't grow taller with GH than they would if they did not have RSS. Example: 's mom is 4'11 " (59 " ) tall 's dad is 5'8 " (68 " ) tall So 's target height would be 5' 5.5 " (65.5 " ) tall. The average adult male with RSS, but no GH treatment is approximately 4'11 " tall, and is already below average for an RSS male. By doing GH with we're hoping to reach his target height. 2) There are other more important reasons for doing GH than just height. Our hope for is that it will increase his muscle tone, help stabilize his hypo-g, and increase his health and appetite. 3) I'm not sure, but I don't think it's been proven that GH increases the incidents of, or causes the onset of, premature adrenarche or precocious puberty, but Jenn could probably answer this one better than I can. 4)Yep! My understanding is that puberty is puberty no matter what the age of onset. 5) Again, I'm not sure, but I believe this is a common problem for RSS kids. I don't know if anyone has studied the problem from your point of view, but I know that early puberty limits the number of years our kids have to grow, and growth is a major concern for our kids. Hope this helps, and if I got anything wrong here, someone else set me straight!
