Guest guest
i already responded to the NAC don't know anything about vitamin C Pink Joyce R (IPF 3/06) IFA 5/09 Pennsylvania Donate Life Listed 1/09 Inactive 4/09 www.transplantfund.org--- Subject: NAC (Re-posting)To: Breathe-Support Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2009, 9:15 AM When I went to a new Pulmonary Specialist in early September, she told me that I should be on a lung transplant list. Since I have AIDS I'm not eligible. She recommended taking NAC - 600mgs 3x day along with 600mgs Vitamin C 3x daily. She mentioned that the Vitamin C would help prevent "crystallization or solidifying in my organs." I don't remember the exact word that she used. I will need to have a urine test to see if there are any "crystals". I haven't had any ill effects, but I've only been on the NAC for about 7 (seven) weeks. In fact.....my sinus problems have ceased and my coughing is at a minimum. Basically the coughing is only when I talk. Unbelievable difference. Noone has mentioned taking the Vitamin C. I'd be interested to know what others think. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi Joyce.....I re-posted my NAC question today, because I didn't like the way it posted yesterday. Thanks for your help. I hope you have a wonderful day. Guest guest
, There are some who feel that NAC works better, more effectively if taken with Vitamin C. If you Google NAC and vitamin C you will see various 'health' sites with articles talking about this. The research that's been done and is currently underway on pulmonary fibrosis and NAC studies NAC not NAC in combination with vitamin C. Since your physician recommends the vitamin C, it's probably a good idea to follow her instructions.
