Guest guest
Kathy, Wow!!!!! Congratulations, that's great. Your story is so inspirational. I can't wait to join you guys in all of your successes. After almost 25 years of being morbidly obese, I am so looking forward to losing a lot of my excess weight forever. You know, I really seems almost like a fantasy or a dream, but reading all of your posts I know it can be real. It sometimes makes me cry and hope and pray that it can happen to me too! Thanks, ann 24 to 12 in 4 months! As of yesterday I now wear a size 12! The last pair of pants I bought pre-op was a 24. Once again, my clothes are getting too big. Although I love being able to shop in regular clothing stores, I still feel funny about it. I was trying to find some pants yesterday and I kept thinking that people were looking at me wondering what I was doing in the regular clothing deparment. What is even worse is that I have no idea what stores carry petite length clothes and what regular clothing stores have good prices. I knew exactly where to go to find what I wanted when I was a size 24. Next time I will have my size 6 sister shop with me. Kathy M. DS 7/19/01 pre-op size 24, 213 lbs. now size 12, 149 lbs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, I feel like a totally SLOW LOSER again! ROFL (I had mine in late January and am now a wonderful size 16 - hoping to get down to a 12 in time. I'm nine months out at this point and have lost about 102 lbs --- 40=50 more to go, man!). I know how wonderful it is to shop for 'regular' clothes... I went to Marshall Fields today and found some AMAZING bargains in their 'regular department' -- I got two dresses for only 14 bucks each (one is a blue sequined sheath with a transparent blue floral print over it - beautiful! The other is a standard medium blue work dress with embroidery around the chest area)... I also found two 100 pct silk leopard print pants for only 4 bucks each (in a size large). Holy Cow! I can certainly get used to THIS! ROFL Don't worry - the new stores will become second nature to you soon... I am still incredulous that I can see the tag saying size 16 and fit into it... It's like 'wake me up from this wonderful dream!' Congrats to you --- have fun looking and feeling great! You DESERVE it! all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Guest guest
Hi Kathy! What a wonderful story. I am so envious. I can't wait to be able to shop for " regular " sizes. Many of my skinny friends get wonderful top quality clothes in consignment shops at great prices. I can't wait to hit those stores as well as all the bargains available during the end of season sales. Even though I have a few stores in the area like Lane , I almost always shop out of catalogs since they have larger selections and a greater choice of sizes. Plus it's purely exhausting to shop in the malls and I can't tolerate standing and walking long periods. Thanks for sharing!! Doris in PA Hoping for DSW > As of yesterday I now wear a size 12!
