CCFA and similar medical organizations should be lobbyied by their

members in order to direct more of their resources to these (SCD, bacterial

involvment, etc.. ) type of studies..

The thing that really pisses me off is that we've KNOWN the disease has a lot to do with bacterias being out of balance. Why are these people so slow when they have all these fancy degrees and tools at their disposal?

I honestly think they could have come up with a vaccination or something like 20 years ago if they only considered things like diet and bacteria. But no, they had to be stubborn.Am I the only one frustrated by their slow progress? I wish I was a scientist so I could whip them into shape.

I totally agree with you ,

but it would be a better idea to direct as many as possible such

complaints/suggestions to them (CCFA etc..)

by means of a reasonable statement backed-up with sample SCD cases

and supporting research like Caltech’s ..

Who knows may be this might merge two school of thoughts ..:  )

But it's partially a question of financial resources for grants, as pharmaceutical companies can't get charge for things like diet. And also, people don't want to do a diet for years or the rest of their lives. For all that Westernsociety spends umpteen millions on diet, most people just want a quickie solution. So, until they get to a crisis point, they prefer being in denial or the magical thinking of "I'll take a pill and that will cure me". Most people don't really understand the liminal world of chronic illnesses that Western medicine has not yet penetrated until they are standing in that place and are forced to deal with it in their daily lives. That's the popular culture that we live in - so that is, for the most part, the way we think until we decide to deal with a specific situation, whether our own or if we are a parent, for our child. And the pharmaceutical companies both abet and fall prey to this approach. Western medicine has certain templates in its scientific approach and most researchers staywithin that mode - one thing the just deceased Dr. Bihari said in a paper about the way that LDN works that I read by him once - is that it heals using a different method than the waythings are normally approached in western medicine, so it is a bit of a mental adjustmentto see its potential uses.
