Guest guest
Hi all, I had the same exact thing for lunch today that I did last night (2 ground beef patties plus steamed green beans, carrots, and peeled zucchini) and last night I was fine. Today I'm at work and ate really fast at my desk, then immediately was cramping/gassy and off to the bathroom (no D, but a little loose). I felt better immediately. Does anyone else notice that they are sensitive to the speed and manner in which they eat? Guest guest
Does anyone else notice that they are sensitive to the speed and manner in which they eat?Well, if you eat too fast, then you aren't chewing as well, and since chewing is the first step in the digestive process, you've already set yourself up for not digesting your food properly. Lol I think I'm the slowest eater on the planet, but my food definitely gets chewed =) I think it definitely impacts your digestion how you eat; not only how fast but also I think if you're really stressed when you eat you might not digest as well. Guest guest
Yes, being rushed affects me. There was a certain hurricane on the way to Houston (which turned at the last minute and hit NO) but it was very early am and had to decide to stay or go. I tossed breakfast. That does happen every once in awhile when someone bugs me into making a decision too fast while I'm eating. I'd hate to work a 30-minute lunch break ;-(. The company matters too. Certain people, I just do not eat with or if forced, I just pick at my food and eat later. Didn't use to be this way, used to eat standing up because there was no time but that was pre-cd. Maybe small snacks/meals instead of trying to do it all in a lunch hour would help. Debbie 41 cd Does anyone else notice that they are sensitive to the speed and manner in which they eat? Guest guest
I can't stand for people to walk around a lot while I'm eating. Like say if I'm sitting there and someone keeps jumping up and down or walking around like that. I think it's age ha ha. OTOH, I used to work at a place that had a huge circular 'thing' like as a decoration outside where we ate sometimes. I could not eat, look out at the park or do very much else except stand there. Once I was outside the 'circle', I was ok. It's like vertigo. This was way before I got cd. So sensitive to somethings but those are the only two I know of. Debbie 41 cd Very sensitive... Guest guest
It's after midnight--just saying jumping up and down to go to the kitchen or something. The circular thing was above us, way above us but close enough to make me extremely conscious of it. That's the only time I've ever had that feeling or experience though. 'night! Guest guest
Just wanted to say that's great! Someone in that position who will have those issues in mind lol. We need more people in those types of jobs who get it. Debbie 41 cd (and congratulations on being in school, dealing with the health issues and scd, you must stay very busy!) LOL, thanks Debbie and others. Debbie, maybe it's a feng shui thing. ) Off topic, but I think people are very influenced, even if subconsciously, by their surroundings... Guest guest
A walk after eating will help jump start your digestive system and increases the production of digestive enzymes so it's a good idea (as long as it doesn't cause you discomfort) to do after a meal. But during the meal you should be relaxed. I heard that it's best to sit (with good posture).
