I was diagnosed with ILD 2 weeks ago. Currently recovering from lung biopsy. My

biggest complaints have been shortness if breath and cough. The only pain /

discomfort i have felt is from the biopsy. Its scary because i dont know what

more to expect. I am now on O2 and just love the fact that i can breathe.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Hello and Welcome! As everyone will say we are glad you are here but sorry that you got a diagnosis that made you look for us.I wanted to reply because you are in Columbia (I live in West Columbia)  If you want to communicate via the board, please ask any questions you would like and you'll get answers and advice from a really great group of people.  If you would like to talk personally, please feel free to call me.  My phone # is 926-0548.  I work part time and am usually home by 2pm every day. Having a new dx of this disease is pretty scary.  We've all been there, done that and bought the t-shirt!I am 59 years and was dx in 2006 with adult onset asthma and IPF.  A worsening cough, extreme sob and fatigue began in 2008 when I underwent biopsy which found my PF was being caused by Sarcoidosis.  I have been taking

prednisone, plaquenil and MTX for over a year now and my sarcoid has improved but not remissed.  I use 02 24/7 and sleep with a bi-pap. Other than that, I feel pretty good. You will get over the shock and realize you can still do a lot of things (maybe slower) but keep at it. Again, welcome.Roxanne, 59, South Carolina

Roxanne.... and ...welcome to you . You are in the best place you can be as we fight our mutual disease and everything related to it!

There is always someone here to answer a question or give support. Beth is a caring and knowledgeable moderator...she is a nurse. Bruce is a wealth of info and the rest of us each have our own chair at the 'family table' so to speak.

Roxanne....you say you 'bought the T-shirt??? I must have missed the selling of them from the board...clue me in.

Have a good weekend gals.
