Guest guest
My daughter and Son-in-Law live in Houston and called me and said the house they bought in October has mold. My daughter is an Environmental Engineer too. Her husband got a nose bleed and has never had one his whole life. They smelled mold in their bedroom and went to Lowe's and bought a test kit. Turned out positive. She then took a sample and sent to a lab and also was positive. They are trying to find out what other areas also have mold. She wants me and Joanie to come out and supervise new siding and repairing. She plans to have the mold prior to me coming out. You think you go problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
J/J .... I feel afraid for you two to go into the house where there is mold! I know neither of you are foolish and will take every precaution... but our kids crying help can cause (at least me) to jump to quickly... We have some friends who were renting a 'moldy' house. When it was discovered they were told to leave the house IMMEDIATELY, with only the clothes on their back! Their lodging and expenses were paid and people went in and removed every item and took their clothes hanging in the closet and in drawers (I think to the cleaners). This process went on for months before it was finally settled. Their rent was paid in a new apt and so on. Are your kids still living there?! Now mama's gonna worry... Guest guest
Joe... apparently they are not aware of the dangers of living in a house where there is mold...gives me shudders. A tape was wrapped around the house to warn people...KEEP OUT, MOLDS PRESENT.... Do be careful Joe. MamaSher; 71, IPF 3-2006, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Guest guest
My daughter is well aware of the mold situation as I said she is an environmental engineer . They are doing more testing now to see if the mold is just in the bedroom or if there's mold throughout the house . They're also trying to see who is liable as they just bought the house in October and there was an inspector a real estate agent and of course the seller involved . They're also getting quotes on repair total siding repair new installation.she is also trying to find no what the laws are regarding the sale of the house with mold and the possibility of of the seller be liable for all of repairs . It sounds like a real nightmare to me and also sounds like it's going to be a very expensive proposition . Guest guest
Joe, 's sister had mold after a hurricane a few years ago. When she had the enviromental people check it out, they wouldn't allow her to get ANYthing out of the house but her purse.. completely stripped the house back to the studs. That was after running several heppa filters for a week. It is really quite dangerous. Our home in Tampa had Icky black mold in the Air ducts from us running the fan on the AC unit without the ac on. moisture and there ya go. Please be careful. We founf out toooo late your supposed to have the ductwork cleaned every 5 years. We had only had ours about 20 years or better.. We are not sure it didn't cause my IPF..Hope you two have a good week-end.Peggy----- "JOE & JOANIE LAMENSKIE" wrote: > > My daughter is well aware of the mold situation as I said she is an environmental engineer . Guest guest
Joe.... as an engineer she is certainly 'aware'. Does seem like the sale of the house had to show some mold, doesn't it... Guest guest
I share , They looked at the house twice before they bought it and the way my daughter talked there was no visible mold showing and of course I'm sure if there was any odor they probably had candles going way ahead or disinfected before the real estate agent had my daughter and her husband visit .
