Guest guest
I started my almost six year old daughter (and me) on the intro diet last week. She was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in March, but I think she's had it for as long as her juvenile arthritis diagnosis (4 years ago). She has never had a problem gaining weight or growing, but since starting the diet, I noticed her upper torso/rib cage area is becoming very pronounced. She's noticed too and asked why she can feel her bones. I weighed her and she's still 48 lbs (and 46 inches tall), so she hasn't lost weight. At this point, she's eating: eggs chicken beef carrots gelatin bananas zucchini SCD yogurt honey grape juice We'll introduce apples tomorrow. She is full of energy and wants to eat all the time. Has this happened to anyone else? If she's not losing weight, is this something I should be concerned about, or should I just keep monitoring her weight? Also, does anyone have a suggestion for a good online dietary journal? I want something where I can enter what we're eating and get a report to make sure it's well-balanced. Thank you! Guest guest
Hi , This happened to me, my hip bones and lower 3 ribs stood out after a couple weeks on the diet. In my case it was bloating that was disappearing, which is a good thing! If she hasn't lost weight, it could be bloating or inflammation going away. I use Fitday.com to track. For the yogurt I just put in the amount as plain whole yogurt. Kat > > I started my almost six year old daughter (and me) on the intro diet last week.
