Guest guest
I have been on the diet for about a week now and haven't seen any difference in my symptoms. It's the same as when I was eating whatever I wanted. I know these changes are not immediate, but how am I supposed to know whether or not any new foods I introduce are bad, when my symptoms in general have not improved? As it is right now, I've cut out the eggs and the carrots from the intro as suggested. I've eaten pretty much nothing but chicken and steamed zucchini for the last five days. I want to start introducing some more things but don't know what a " bad reaction " should consist of if I'm still on the toilet five hours a day with severe leakage. Guest guest
Joe,Are you peeling and de-seeding your zucchini? What about the broth/soup? Have you been making/eating that? Have you noticed any positive changes as all no matter how insignificant they might seem? You can have other meat like beef or fish, too.Elaine said to do intro only 2-5 days. You can add new foods in. Look for added deterioration/exacerbation of symptoms or new negative symptoms to help determine if a food does not agree with you. You might try ripe bananas -- no green and with brown spots forming.I really cannot stress the broth enough. Slow simmered for about 4 hours. Drink the broth, or broth with the chicken pureed in. It is very healing for the gut.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sat, May 29, 2010 10:50:14 PMSubject: What to expect when introducing foods? I would start adding different kinds of meats and maybe a vegetable or two, such as green beans. It may take time to see some results, particularly if you reacted to the carrots the way I did, with bright orange poo. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Eggs are an amazing food and full of nutrients and protein and fat that you need. You might also try ground beef patties soon. And the 24-hour yogurt. You shouldn't need to eat the same stuff for five days straight. Try adding a food or two that you like and that is high in protein and fat. A week isn't long. Some people experience some positive effect very quickly. Others don't. I did, but I had also started LDN at the time, and that made a huge difference for me. n, Crohn's, 30+ years SCD and LDN -- ______________________________ A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers.
