Does anyone have any advice for me? > Congratulations on starting the process. The first days are difficult, but you will get into a pattern and a routine and it gets easier. I found that with my daughter, keeping to a schedule helped her get used to the band. We washed it around the same time daily and bathed or washed her head (the helmet does get stinky, so clean it well and dry it fully. You can leave it out in the sun to dry too). We made it quick and simple. She cried a lot at first with the neck excercises, but soon she began having fun with it because I'd count out loud and make funny faces. She wore the helment from Jan-May (6-10 months)and it was not as big of a deal as I thought it would be. She slept well with it the whole time, adapted beautifully to wearing it and actually missed it when it came off. People did ask questions or look at when we were out, but I got used to it quickly. There was curiosity as well as people who's children wore the band or needed it who offered support or had questions. And she looked so cute in her helmet with the stickers we'd change weekly. For what it's worth, I am so happy we made the decision to get the band done. Her head, while not completely perfectly round, it so beautifully shaped now. Her forehead is smooth and even, her back of head evened out a lot and her facial features and ears are aligned now. Take it day by day at first. The time goes quickly. It has almost been a week and we are almost up to doing the 23 hours a day. He is fine with his helmet, doesn't even seem to notice. He is sometimes really picky so I thought we would have issues while he got used to having the helmet on but nothing (which is great).
