Guest guest
The results of my RH Cath were good! The doc said my systolic pressure was 30; within the normal range. The procedure itself wasn’t too bad at all. I didn’t get any sedatives. They numbed the entry area of the cath and I could feel the needle prick which was painful but short-lived. During the procedure I could feel the tugging and pushing as they guided the tubing in and out. They also measured something called a pulmonary wedge pressure, which the doc had trouble accessing and had to change out the tubing to something smaller. He said this was probably due to the fibrosis in my lungs. I’m just happy that I don’t have hypertension or any other issues with my heart. I had to lay flat for about 3 hours after, but I had a TV, breakfast, and very nice nurses. Even though I had no sedation I slept most of those 3 hours. I was told to stay off my feet for the next 2-3 days, in fact, the doc said NO turkey dinner cooking. So, I told the kids and they were like…â€whaaat??†Maybe its time they learned how to do it. All is good today! C_53_Familial IPF_5/09Washington
Guest guest
, Great news, now its over and all those other things you were worried about the procedure our gone. Big relief. You will have a good thanksgiving now. I had a routine Echo yesterday. They do not suspect PH but they did the Echo just for initial evaluation. If it comes back fine I will not have to have a RHC at this point. I hope that is the right course of action. Dave, Miami, 43 UIP 11/09 > > The results of my RH Cath were good! Guest guest
, Such excellent news!!! I'm so happy for you. I know it's a huge relief. The pulmonary wedge pressure is just part of the overall test. So now you have the perfect reason not to do any work at all this week. Just relax and let everyone else take care of Turkey day! Happy Thanksgiving!!
