Guest guest
Hey! I want to wish everyone here a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your day is awesome. As I was reading thru the posts for today, I noticed some discussions on CPAPs. I use a full face mask because I can't close my mouth (LOL) and my nose will stop up easily. I started out with the mask that covers only the nose. I didn't like how my ears would stop up and I couldn't get regulated. The oxygen company that I get my supplies from automatically sends me everything I need and I don't have to call and ask for it. Every month I get a new hose and white allergy filters. Every six months I get a new mask. I had thought about finding out if my insurance and medicare would allow me a new mask every 3 months. I love the first night with the new mask. I put it on and it is so quiet. As time goes on, things change. The little thingamaditty in the lower end of the mask that opens up when the machine turns on starts making funny noises. I can't figure it out. I have gotten up and gotten a towel and dried the mask all out again to see if that would help. I have seen the pillow for those who use the ful face mask but I don't want to pay $63.00 for one of those. AND every night, I get in the bed, put on the mask, and lie down and then my nose starts itching. I take the mask off and scratch my nose and then put the mask back on and go to sleep. It happens every night. One question: How often should a person repeat a sleep study once they have started using the CPAP? Every ayear, or every 3 years????? I wonder about that. Toodles!
