Guest guest
MB, Dyanne, Joyce, Bruce et al, I'm noticing a lot of posts about Balance issues..which I also have. Now my ENT man has assumed it's to do with my recent ear problems but I've had Balance problems for some years now. I can't accurately remember when they started but I can remember occasions when I noticed. Dyanne, your description of 'drifting' fits my Bill beautifully..that's exactly it! I DRIFT...I also overbalance...backwards, forwards, sideways...any which ways! I too would fail the 'Drunk' test...set me up for a straight line & I wobble like an old Soak! I Do know that using a walking stick always makes me feel steadier...I need that 3rd leg...but of course I don't use one....except when I'm Bush Walking..that doesn't offend my personal sense of vanity. Isn't Vanity a terrible affliction! I rode Bicycles all through my Youth & into my Adult years...I wonder if I'd have problems now.. I should give it a go..maybe a bike would rebalance me! In a couple of weeks I'll be having foraml Balance tests at a Neurosensory Audio Unit...that'll be very interesting! Meanwhile just call us the 'Wobblies' GIO >> Dyane,> Wow that is weird...I don't know what to make of all this....it just really makes me wonder.>  > Beth> Moderator> Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Dermatomyositis 11/08>  >  > > > > > ________________________________> To: Breathe-Support > Sent: Wed, November 25, 2009 10:58:38 AM> Subject: Re:> >  > Beth, > > Here we go again with a "common denominator" My daughter and I would laugh because when we would walk I always 'drifted' into her like we were magnets or something. Guest guest
, What's interesting about all this to me is that my balance issues go back to when I was a kid. I've ALWAYS had lousy balance, poor coordination just generally clutzy. I've always 'drifted' when walking unless I'm really focusing I drift and always to the left. It's very weird and because it's always been there I have a hard time relating it to aging. Very very weird. Guest guest
MB I couldn't roller skate as an example and sure couldn't ice skate. As to walking too, I also tend to not move my arms. > > > > Dyane, > > Wow that is weird...I don't know what to make of all this....it just really makes me wonder. > >  > > Beth > > Moderator > > Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Dermatomyositis 11/08 > >  > >  > > > > > > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __ > > From: Dyane Billings dyanebillings@ ... > > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > > Sent: Wed, November 25, 2009 10:58:38 AM > > Subject: Re: > > > >  > > Beth, > > > > Here we go again with a " common denominator "  My daughter and I would laugh because when we would walk I always 'drifted' into her like we were magnets or something.
