Guest guest
Peggy, what a nice present you had to have for Thanksgiving! A Macbook Pro! I must say, you are a pro in my book. Hee Hee Hee (I borrowed your phrase.) We went to my brother's house for our dinner yesterday. 17 people were there. My brother is still recovering from his surgery and is just now trying to eat more solid food. ( He had a herniated disc) One of the eventful moments of the afternoon was when my sister-in-law Donna, put some ham in the oven to warm it up. (one of her daughters brought it) It was in a disposable pan and some of the juice around the bottom of the pan warmed up and dripped into the oven (She has a gas range & oven). What a smoky smell we had! I was in the living room, (next to the kitchen) when this happened. Donna runs into the living room to open the window. Evidently, one of her windows wouldn't stay up by itself so she grabs a fish bowl to hold it up. Donna heads back to the kitchen, all windows are opened in both rooms and I am told to stay in the living room. Someone had already taken the ham out of the oven, no harm done to the ham, Moments later, we all jumped up because there was a loud crash. Right before my eyes, in the living room, the fish bowl is jarred loose and the window shuts by itself, crashing the fish bowl everywhere. Donna runs into the room and begins picking up the glass. Fortunately there were no fish in that bowl (and no water either). Another incident occured while we were eating. Donna is running around taking care of everybody (we are all in the kitcen/den eating) when my brother has some kind of difficulty. Donna takes him outside on the screened in porch and I could hear him coughing. He had gotten choked on turkey & dressing. It really scared me. Donna's mother told me that my brother had just started back to eating more solid food. He was all right when he came back in. Before I knew it, he was loading his plate with 3 desserts. My great nephew had a school project to complete during our dinner, too. He dressed in an apron and made him a chef hat. Then he posed for pictures while he pretended to serve food. All in all, we had a fun time and drew names for Christmas before we left, I hope everyone had a good day yesterday. Today Eddie cooked a turkey breast at our house and peas and turnip greens. Eddie is planning to eat turkey sandwiches all week. I have enjoyed my pajama day today. Toodles! Guest guest
Oh JANE..wot a great T story...I WAS imagining FISH all over the carpet from the moment you mentioned the the window stopper.... One of our large fishtanks just cracked & exploded all by it-self one time sending water & foish cascading everywhere...luckily we have bare floorbaords..but the fish were VERY unhappy...saved most of em! They were unceremoniously dumped into a plastic bucket... Far sadder was the day more recently when I got up to go & feed the fish & found that the Heater had a fault & electrocuted them ALL...that was a dreadful day! How lovely to think of all of your gals Post-Thanksgiving having your Jamma Days! lotsa.....SGIO > >> > Hi Group, Well what a day we had yesterday.. wonderful, filling in> every way.
