Guest guest
Hey there Bob.. you're a man after my own heart! What a wonderful trip yuou & your wife just had...YES it can be done..... I was diagnosed in May 2007...had a Lung Biopsy in June...was in the UK/France/ Holland (from OZ) with my whole family (2 daughters, 3 grandkids & my Hubby) for 12 weeks of Memory Making by the end of September..... the 'Family Heritage Trip' we dubbed it...we were a "Travellin' Circus"... the kids were 4/ 8/9....... It took lots of planning on my part as I played Travel Organiser...I used O2 on the Flight but not on the ground. I risked having no Insurance Cover for the PF, that time (that's a major drawback for futre OS travel 'cos Oz is so far away from the rest of the World..it'd cost a BOMB to get me back home if I suddenly got worse!) These days I stick to the South Pacific for my holidays for that reason....but hey it's a gorgeous place & I've got loads to explore! New Zealand...Tonga.....Fiji....Noumea....Vanuatu.....Norfolk Island...Lord Howe Island....Samoa....Tuvalu.....even Antarctica is possible...wouldn't THAT be something! Hey I haven't even been over the the West Coast of Oz yet..that's a whole other world...then there's the Northern Territory with Kadau National Park! HEY there Mister Travellin' MAN ..you've got me THINKIN' BTW in Oz (GIO) PS........GO FOR IT!

Guest guest
, You named some great places in the Southern Pacific......There are no lack of great places in the world. So many places, so little time..... so, we gotta do it while we can..Right? I think you should go for it, sounds like you are a good planner, and thats all it takes. This disease may slow us down, but it aint gonna stop us yet. Guest guest
Hi Dyanne & Bob, We live in the Nether Regions of the World....my great-grandfather was a South Sea Island Seas Captain Trader & I grew up in a house surrounded by 'funny' bits of furniture & memorabilia. He became extremely wealthy & I've always wondered exactly WHAT he traded!!!!!!!!! Imagine my surprise when I was at the Linen Hall Library in Belfast, searching Indexes for his surname & I came across a newspaper arcticle describing how Captain Lyons' ship, usually found in the South Seas, was the smallest vessel used by the British Navy to help ship men to the Crimea War. It went on to say that the boat was memorable for being the smallest 'private' sailing ship to be available..... fully ARMED. My great grandfather never missed any opportunity to have his ship working & earning money for him, even when he was back home in Northern Ireland for Family Funerals ..his own weedding etc! I've also found references in the Belfast Shipping Reports of the Ship being on the Cape Horn Trade Routes where Iguana Poo was shipped to Europe to be used as Fertilizer. Even Fishing Boats from the UK undertook that hazardous journey, such was the profits that could be turned. So I've got a long-held curiosity about these exotic, some still with dangerous political undercurrents, South Pacific Paradises! Having got hold Of my great-grandfather's will & estate papers I now know he actually owned land in Fiji, Tonga & the Suvala islands. I do a lot of armchair travel too..last night I was enjoying Frog's Legs & good red Wine in Bordeaux!~ Cheers, GIO > >> > > > Hey there Bob.. you're a man after my own heart!> > > > What a wonderful trip yuou & your wife just had...YES it can be> > done.....> > > > I was diagnosed in May 2007...had a Lung Biopsy in June...was in the> > UK/France/ Holland (from OZ) with my whole family (2 daughters, 3> > grandkids & my Hubby) for 12 weeks of Memory Making by the end of> > September... .. the 'Family Heritage Trip' we dubbed it...we were a> > "Travellin' Circus"... the kids were 4/ 8/9.......> > > > It took lots of planning on my part as I played Travel Organiser... Guest guest
,Oh my, Iguana poo? The things people make money off of LOL. The South Sea Islands sound wonderful and of course Fiji, to sit on the beach breathing that fresh sea air.....ahhhhhhhhhhBob's little trip has rekindled my urge to see Eqypt and the Nile. I found a website that does "handicapped tours" Now if I can just find a bank to rob........ha ha ahha hahhaa no really my dear husband and I really wanted to do that and if I can swing it I will.Just got my report back from National Jewish.....9 pages... and they keep repeating what a complex patient I am, I am still digesting it so more tomorrow.I do know that way back (like the 16th century)on my dad's side was a Lithuwanian Princess. Unfortunely she married a commoner and there went the neighborhood....but I can tell my granddaughters they do have royal blood!Must go make dinner, I have sitting here looking up terms from the report for 2 hours....Dyane, 54, Phoenix, IIP 02 now NSIP 09, Breast Cancer, Psoriasis, Lipodermatosclerosis, Diabetes, and now a RA like autoimmune component, yadda yadda yadda."Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving is a pretty, well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, chocolate in one hand, Margaritas in the other, loudly proclaiming "Holy **** What a ride!"."> > >> > >> > > Hey there Bob.. you're a man after my own heart!> > >> > > What a wonderful trip yuou & your wife just had...YES it can be> > > done.....> > >> > > I was diagnosed in May 2007...had a Lung Biopsy in June...was in the> > > UK/France/ Holland (from OZ) with my whole family (2 daughters, 3> > > grandkids & my Hubby) for 12 weeks of Memory Making by the end of> > > September... .. the 'Family Heritage Trip' we dubbed it...we were a> > > "Travellin' Circus"... the kids were 4/ 8/9.......> > >> > > It took lots of planning on my part as I played Travel Organiser...> I> > > used O2 on the Flight but not on the ground.
