I use NAC, which of course is over the counter from any of the health food

stores, or of course, online. I also use Mucinex DM for the cough suppressant

and expectorant. I try to keep it to a minimum though as I don't want problems

with NAC. I also will use a sudafed decongestant when my sinuses get plugged up

(spring and fall usually). I take fish oil capsules (for vitamin E and diabetes

control), OS-CAL plus D for my osteopenia, a 1000 mg vitamin D (after my doctor

did a blood test that showed me deficient), and the senior Centrum

multi-vitamin. Up until I was put on prednisone, I was taking the fish oil,

Os-cal, and Centrum. After prednisone sent everything out of whack, I added the

D and upped the amount of fish oil. The NAC was recommended by National Jewish

and the D was recommended by my GP after the deficient 'D' blood test. I try to

check for drug interactions before I buy over the counter stuff. I use the AARP

health board for checking drug interactions, though my local doctor has a

website I use that will check for those as well. Knowledge is power! We do

have the medications database file that you can check too.
