Guest guest
Hi there. I would say that my symptoms over the past 7 years or so have been mostly C with intermittent D related to various foods. Thought I had IBS-C. I have also struggled some with yeast in the past 2 yrs. Recently my doctor tested for Celiac and was positive. So now not sure whether a diet free of gluten will take care of all symptoms. I am just beginning SCD and reading, reading, reading. I do not see a lot of people out there talking about C being their main symptom and whether this diet can be helpful for that or if I am on the wrong track. Anyone have any experience or thoughts about this? Thanks!Kelley
Guest guest
, You are on the right track. SCD is ideal for celiac. As your gut heals- no longer being damaged by gluten- you will feel much better.SCD is better than just the gluten-free diet for healing because a damaged gut becomes intolerant to more than just gluten and SCD eliminates the complex carbs that do the most harm. Celiac can cause thyroid problems which can cause C so be sure to check that. PJ > > Hi there. Guest guest
Hi , My main problem was C. when I first started the SCDiet 2 years ago. I am doing so much better. In order for this diet to be beneficial to you, it would be good to start a food diary and be diligent at keeping an eye on what foods you can tolerate or not, the SCD legal ones I mean. Everyone is different so you’ll find what works for you with trial and error but it’s so worth the trouble! Good luck, GERDS and chronic C. SCD 2 yrs Re: C instead of D , You are on the right track. Guest guest
Kelley, You are surely on the right tract. My C is better on SCD but it is no where near gone. I go through spells of regular BMs and spells of C, sometimes even D but that's rare. I drink a gallon + of water a day, eat plenty of veggies and nothing seems to work consistently. I've tried magnesium citrate, the C protocol from the BTVC site, just prunes, homemade prune juice and nothing works consistently. The prune juice each morning when I first woke up provided the best relief though. To make, I use 5 prunes per cup of water. So, I count out my prunes (usually 25) and I simmer them on low for about 2 hours and I strain and reserve the liquid. I put the prunes in my blender, add the reserved liquid after measuring it. When it's done blending, I put it in a pitcher and add enough water to equal 5 cups plus the reserved liquid. Once you find the spot on your pitcher, you won't have to measure it anymore. I drink 1 cup first thing in the morning. The C protocol in the BTVC didn't work because I can't tolerate nut flours very well and I have no self control not to eat the whole batch. If I ate 1 muffin a day, it might help. Good luck on your journey, Misty Kimble CD - no meds SCD - 2 + years > I am on the wrong track. Guest guest
Thanks to all who responded. I appreciate the information and encouragement. I hadn't really seen anyone talking about C, mostly D, so wanted to make sure I was headed in the right direction. I am ready to feel better. I will continue on then. Best wishes, Kelley
