Marceau did studies on this and found that independent measurements by two surgeons of the same patients yielded different results. Steve's and my common channels are the same length, yet we have lost about the same amount of weight. The difference is that I had surgery at the end of August and Steve had his in early May. I don't think that these things are really subject to accurate predictions, even with things seemingly being equal.
