Guest guest
You probably need to read this which goes over the requirements for SCD and Candida Elimination. Overview of Candida and the SCD http://pecanbread.com/p/how/yeast.html Suggested Phases of Candida and the SC Diet http://pecanbread.com/p/how/ayeast2.html Bananas aren't good for the Candida elimination phase since its too high in sugar. (See this page: http://pecanbread.com/p/how/ayeast4.html ). Hopes this helps.

Guest guest
Hi all, I'm curious about the yeast thing and read the Pecanbread links below. I do have some of the symptoms listed (cold hands/feet, tendency toward acne, nasal congestion, lethargy, headaches...) but I feel like these could just be due to the " baddies " in my gut or side effects from birth control pills (which I am stopping after this cycle) or Entocort (steroid). Is yeast something you just know you have, if it's a problem? I've never had a yeast infection or thrush. I'm just wondering if I should be doing the Anti-candida version of SCD or if it's not necessary. Thanks! Guest guest
Question, I have boulardi and oil of oregano.... should I have those at opposite times of the day when I take the yogurt... the yogurt seems to be helping a little bit...and I really don't want to disturb its progress and kill it off unintentionally > > > > Hi > > Have been trying to gain weight > > cant eat banans(constipate), > > blend all foods, alittle trouble > > with beef and eggs (raw seems better ) > > trying to lower sugars that feed candida > > and other " stuff " . > > Trying to find legal antiparasite supplements > > Do lots of broth and geletin, blended egg and > > pear(cooked, chicken and avocado with garlic(figure that helps rid > > bad stuff and increases appetite). Guest guest
I'm just a beginner SCD'er myself. I know that week three of the SCD, I had a really bad break out of acne which lasted a while, and seems to be clearing up a bit, the further along I go. I read here on the Candida-Yeast forum: http://www.candidayeastthrushforum.com/view_topic.php?id=127 & forum_id=1 That the spit test for candida, which I've even done, isn't conclusive. According to candiday, the yeast themselves are not the problem, but the waste products emitted by the fungi. Some people are allergic to it, others not. Guest guest
You are only on week 3 - I would just do the yogurt for a while and let that get sorted out in your gut. Doing all those things together might just screw up progress. It's too much to do all that initially. After a while, slowly add in the other things, oil of oregano at the opposite time of day. For some people -- I'm one -- LDN acts to take/keep weight off; which is great is you have weight to lose; which is less great if you don't. I was not especially fat a year and a half ago when I started on SCD and LDN. I lost 60-63 pounds between the two and now am underweight but simply can't gain any back. I feel pretty good much of the time, so it doesn't bother me. Except I've had to keep buying new clothes, as I've gone done 5-6 sizes; and I now look a little on the skeletal side and might scare somebody if I were wearing a bathing suit (if I had one that fit me at the moment). :-)n >>> >>>> Hi>> Have been trying to gain weight>> cant eat banans(constipate),>> blend all foods, alittle trouble>> with beef and eggs (raw seems better )>> trying to lower sugars that feed candida>> and other "stuff".>> Trying to find legal antiparasite supplements>> Do lots of broth and geletin, blended egg and>> pear(cooked, chicken and avocado with garlic(figure that helps rid>> bad stuff and increases appetite). Guest guest
Oh sorry, I got acne on week three.. I'm actually on my sixth week of the diet. I celebrated a month the first week of May. > >>> > >>> Hi > >>> Have been trying to gain weight > >>> cant eat banans(constipate), > >>> blend all foods, alittle trouble > >>> with beef and eggs (raw seems better ) > >>> trying to lower sugars that feed candida > >>> and other " stuff " . > >>> Trying to find legal antiparasite supplements > >>> Do lots of broth and geletin, blended egg and > >>> pear(cooked, chicken and avocado with garlic(figure that helps rid > >>> bad stuff and increases appetite). Guest guest
Wow, that hasn't been me! I've been gaining weight since starting both LDN and SCD, and had to buy bigger clothes. That is, until I had a setback a couple months ago and lost a few pounds (ironically, I went off LDN for that time because I needed the occasional pain pill). At least I can afford to eat cheese again! I had to stop when I was gaining too much weight. Guest guest
There was an article awhile back about a new diet drug with ldn and welbutrin (I think) combined to make a weight loss drug. I haven't had the side effect with LDN either. It does seem to help with bloating--I have no idea how. I use it at night and the bloat goes away. I'm maintaining, not really gaining or losing. Like I mentioned, I'm about 10lbs. over my old weight (pre-cd). I'm pretty convinced what I would like to lose would require excercise, not weight loss really. Just the hip.stomach area ;-). We're all so different, I hope things even out for you soon--losing or gaining. Debbie 41 cd Wow, that hasn't been me! Guest guest
wow didn't know about LDN stuff ,but normally healing will help people gain - i so know what you mean about the bathing suit - always hated my outer hips even though i was always 100 lbs -so i dropped to 83 when sick and was too gross to not cover up either-lol eileen 2 years 4 months scd > >> > >> Hi > >> Have been trying to gain weight > >> cant eat banans(constipate), > >> blend all foods, alittle trouble > >> with beef and eggs (raw seems better ) > >> trying to lower sugars that feed candida > >> and other " stuff " . > >> Trying to find legal antiparasite supplements > >> Do lots of broth and geletin, blended egg and > >> pear(cooked, chicken and avocado with garlic(figure that helps rid > >> bad stuff and increases appetite).
