Guest guest
, I was very interested in what you wrote here (about a month ago). is in early puberty (age 10). Our doctor wants to start him on Lupron. Actually, he's had one injection already, but that was just to test his hormone response to confirm that he's in puberty (answer: yes). Dr. H. suggested should be on aromatase inhibitors last year, when he was in adrenarche. But our doctor wasn't in favor of that. I wonder what she would say now that he's in puberty (aside from " I told you so - you should have listened to my advice last year! " ). I wish the Magic conference was sooner! I'm anxious to get Dr. H.'s opinion, and also hear her presentations on early puberty. Are there any articles in the Magic libarary on this subject that you recommend? - Joe > > Gotta make dinner but I will try and write more later when I finish > more research. Guest guest
Joe, It is my understanding that you should be using both for now because they do different things. One supresses estrogen production (Arimidex) while the other supresses puberty (Lupron). It is not too late to start the Arimidex. Is getting the Lupron shots every 28 days? They can be very painful and it's inconvenient to have to take him every 4 weeks. Ask your doctor about the Lupron that is used every three months. There is also Zoladex, with which I am more familiar. That is a pellet that is inserted just under the skin in the abdomen. Done correctly, it is painless, or involves very little discomfort.
