I don't know why it would fail. Maybe they just got yogurt and didn't realize it, or didn't like it. It's not hard. But all that experience making nut milk yogurt last year certainly gave me more experience that the runny, separated product with that particular taste was indeed yogurt. <g> And yeah, come to think of it, I heard a whole bunch of times that making coconut yogurt was hard - more finicky than nutmilk, which is one reason I didn't give it a try earlier. It's not at all true. Really, the gelatin idea was ingenious - Amelia, was that your original idea - or was it something you read about elsewhere? Props either way. It totally transforms it.
