If you were still in California you could switch to an indivddual policy with the same company that your COBRA coverage is with without worry about having to pass medical exams. Since your moving states, you may be out of luck there. So joining a new group plan seems like the best option. Unfortunately, BC is famous for problems, though they will cover the RNY with some policies. We are fighting this issue.
