Guest guest
Hi Judie: Sorry if I put in wrong info. Dr. W.Christian Oakley is in Boise, and attends at St. Lukes Regional Med. Ctr. in Boise. I live in Nampa. I don't know where Kamiah is, I'll have to get out my maps! My grandpa mined in Idaho, and my dad was born in Mackay. The family(my dad had 3 sisters and 2 brothers) and their progeny maintain cabins at the Sherman Howe Mine site, and we try to get in there at least once a summer(it's about 45 minutes in from Bergdorf on 4 wheel drive roads). I haven't been able to go in the last few years, between my weight and the altitude, and the chronic fatigue syndrome, but the country is beautiful. When I was in grade school, we lived in a mining camp in Montana, and drove from there to visit my grandmother in Grangeville. To the others in the group, I read all the digests, but I am overwhelmed at the moment trying to keep everyone straight, but it such a help to read about the successes of the post-switchers, and the concerns of the pre or wanting to be switched. Thanks for all the info. and honesty. It really has helped me be convinced about what I want and will fight for. Now you have a pretty good idea of where I am....we are north of Grangeville on hiway 12.......do you ever get there anymore? Im pleased to know Oakely is in Boise....the only other surgeon there is Ediger and he only does the RNY. That is why we had to go out of state as at the time there was no DS surgeon. God bless! Guest guest
I believe that if you check this out you will discover that Dr Oakley has no training in the DS procedure. He has started a lap bariatric practice but I'd be cautious about having a surgeon without DS training. You might want to ask him how many DS procedures he as done and break it into lap and open, and where he was trained to do it. in Seattle > Hi Judie: Sorry if I put in wrong info.
