Guest guest
I think in the US they put folks on Simvastatin/Zocor or one of the other Statin drugs. I've seen sky high lipids come down with those drugs. Unfortunately they also interact with one of the antidepressants I find most helpful for many of my patients. I haven't heard of the surgery being used for that in the US. , Seattle > Wow! My husband would be an excellent candidate for this! Guest guest
Lorri-I was on lipitor but I am happy to say I am pill free now. My Dr. did not feel I should stay on it. My Cholestoral is 162 and all my other numbers are good. I like that I am giving my liver a break from all these pills. I don't think it is a bad thing to stay on it but I never heard that you will have a heart attack if you go off because it sticks to the walls. Guest guest
HI Mama Sher, I am glad that you are settling in and checking back in on all of us. I went to my great-nephew's football game tonight at 7:30. Different ones were talking about this kid or that kid has had the flu. My great-niece was also at the game and she has a mild case of chicken pox. I am trying to stay away. I have and Eddie to go to the store for me, but I still want to go out some. I worry more about the people in my exercise class who come to exercise and they have a cold. Makes me furious! One guy had just come from the doctor's office and had a shot and got an antibiotic. He didn't need to come but he did. So I am trying to go when fewer people are there. Take care and let us know how you're doing. Toodles! Guest guest
Hi Beth,I visited my pulmonologist at CCF last Friday and my GP on Monday. My PFT showed a slight decline, but my doc said he only had my first one to compare to and he said it could be due to how I performed the test.I feel better than I did three months ago, so I was surprised the results weren't better. He told me to continue Advair and Flovent and he will repeat CXR in three to four months. If my next PFT has declined more than he said he will probably start me on an immunosuppresant. He did say my lungs sounded good and my medical doc said they sounded good, no crackles. My 6MWT was in the low 90's. My GP was the most reassuring. He told me not to overdo. He's aware I keep track of my pulse ox. He asked me if I wanted O2 available at home. I told him I thought I was ok for the time being. I like the fact that he listens. He's trying to get my GERDS under control. He put me on Zantac 150 mg in the AM and Prilosec 40 mg at night. I hope it works. He told me he's only taken care of 7 IPF patients in 10 years. That's not many is it. So thanks for posting your doctor visit and keep up the good work.
