Guest guest
OK, I've gone ahead and made the decision to host the duodenalswitch.com website elsewhere, since I haven't heard from in a week or so, and the site has been down for over two weeks now. He must be very busy, and I don't want to impose on him any further if he's unable to accommodate us. There are pluses to going to a paid host. It means that I'll have administrative tools that I never had before. It also means that I can provide a duodenalswitch.com email address to anyone who wants one, with POP3 email access. There are neat utilities and site statistic tools that I can use, and form tools for taking polls, etc. if that is ever needed. The web host I chose is called HostRocket, and they are highly rated as one of the best budget web hosting services. Here's the blurb from http://www.100best-web-site-and-domain-hosting-services.com/top100.htm: --- HostRocket http://www.hostrocket.com/ Host Rocket is skyrocketing to the top of the hosting industry with a unique no-contract plan and a Money Back Guarantee. They want you to try them and be satisfied first. Their economy plan includes 350mb for just $9.95 a month. Service features include: High bandwidth connectivity and redundant connections, 99.5% uptime, 14-day money back guarantee, instant account activation. Statement from their website: " We are proud to offer the most complete and highest valued packages available anywhere on the internet today. We offer both plenty of space for you to store both your main site along with any side projects you are working on, and enough bandwidth to deliver your site to thousands and thousands of visitors a month. By keeping up to date with current software updates, we allow you to develop high end dynamic websites to keep your business competitive and your customers coming back. " --- In order to get the best deal, which is $9.95 per month (plus a $9.95 setup fee), I signed up for two years of hosting, at a total price of $248.75. I think it's a small price to pay for all the help the site has given so many people! Many people have expressed an interest in contributing to the cost, so anyone who would like to make a small donation may Paypal to my melanie@... email address: https://www.paypal.com/refer/pal=melanie%40themagruders.com If you are a new Paypal user, this referral link will put $5 into my account, so if you sign up for Paypal, you can actually donate $5 and it won't cost you anything. Existing Paypal users unfortunately don't have this benefit. Thanks a bunch! Sincerely, Magruder, site administrator Duodenal Switch Information Zone http://www.duodenalswitch.com Direct replies: mailto:melanie@... _________________________________________________________
