To Jerry,

I am new to the group just having been diagnosed with PF in June 09. I am amazed to read that you are here in Vicksburg recouping from your eye surgery. Hope that you continue to do well.

My question to you is...Do you know of pulmonologists in MS who have had practice with PF? There are very good Pulmos here, but I am not completely comfortable with their experience with treatment and care of this disease.

nne, Thanks for the encouraging words. I am very happily situated at my friends' home here in Vicksburg, and their little snouzer Lucy keeps me company 24/7. I had a good report yeasterday, and I can see now enough to check email. As far as I know, they didn't do the buckle surgery. They did the lazer surgery and said if that didn't work, then they would go further. Looks like this may work. I'll try to stay still, though the doctor said I could resume my six miles every day walking. Hope to be back on my bicycle soon. Take care of yourself and thank you again.Jerry/Mississippi/ 54/IPF/dx april 05> >> > Due to a retinal detachment, I have been missing you all. Early indications following surgery point to a full restoration of previous sight. Out of curiousity, I have looked on the internet and found that hard or excessive coughing can result in retinal detachment. I had been a little lax in getting my cough under control, but no doubt I will call my pulmonologist and get serious about it. > > > > Have any others on this list experienced this problem? > > > > Jerry/Mississippi/ 54/IPF/dx April 05> >>

Jerry,

How strange...I live in Lakewood on the street that is parallel to Oak Park.I am going out of town today and won't be back until late afternoon. I could go for coffee Sat or Mon afternoon. We probably have mutual friends. It will be interesting to talk with you.

Bettye, I am fine for coffee any time until about middle of next week, when I will head back for Coffeeville. My phone no is . Friday I will be walking some down on Washington. Call if you can meet me there at the coffee shop on Washington. I am glad you found this group so soon. I have only been a member for a few months and could have really benefitted early on. Yes, I know what you mean about being so physically fit, and then to find that the usual activities come much harder and then not so much at all. I used to ride those steep hills in the Military Park with my bicycle buddy. We once rode the park 4 times. Now walking is my exercise of choice. I look forward to meeting you. By the way, I am staying with friends here in Oak Park. I lived here for some 17 years and worked at IP. I have the very best friends and don't know where I would be without them. Life is still good. Take care and I look forward to meeting
