Guest guest
Why not just try a bit of juice from organic anchovies? Or maybe a bit of the liquid, anchovies, water, and honey pureed?AmeliaTo: btvc-scd Sent: Sat, May 8, 2010 12:22:00 PMSubject: Re: fish sauce/hoisin sauce Too bad. So many Thai recipes call for them. >At 08:48 AM 5/7/2010, you wrote: >> I haven't looked at either so forgive me for asking first but has anyone used these? Guest guest
Amelia,Not that I put complete stock in an organic label, but it is something I consider. If it doesn't have illegals is the main thing. If you use a lot, investigating the brand and how they are raised would be good, but if it is a small component of your diet 'regular' would be o.k. I would think.AmeliaTo: btvc-scd Sent: Sat, May 8, 2010 1:13:13 PMSubject: Re: fish sauce/hoisin sauce Great idea! I ve never bought anchovies until last week. I bought some that looked really good. I *THINK* I have a recipe for oyster sauce, but haven't had a chance to kitchen test it properly. Fish sauce has also been on my list of possibilities, since I do like Asian food. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
