Guest guest
Hey Jodie its kim, As far as i know most of us adults are saving to attend the convention next year as there is only an rss adult section once every two years,as none of us can organise events for this year. I think however that claire is going this year as she lives in chicago. I'm not too bad at the moment, i dont know if i mentioned on the site but the orthopedic surgeon has found a loose piece of bone in my knee, as you may know i have joint/knee/mobility problems, and also that my kneecaps dont track correctly so i have a date,June 15th 2005, to have the bone removed,my kneecaps smoothed on the reverse of the cap, and possibly my ligaments in my knees tightened to correct the bad kneecap postioning. Anyway i hope all are ok and your kids are continuing to progress. Guest guest
Hi Jodie, Jenn did post about a MAGIC convention for affected adults (with any growth disorder)... I posted it on the RSS-People listserve, and everyone I heard back from decided to wait to go to the full Chicago conference in 2006 instead. But here's what she posted, in case Cindy (or any other RSS adult who's lurking here) is interested in a trip to Phoenix: -Ana RSS Adults - I need your feedback. MAGIC is planning an ADULTS convention, to be tentatively held on the weekend of Nov. 4-5th at the Marriott Phoenix Hotel. This convention currently is for the Adult Growth Hormone Deficient Division. MAGIC would like to know if the RSS adults would also like to attend? MAGIC would organize the convention, and would help in any way possible to set up speakers. But the adults group would need to decide what they wanted in terms of speakers, etc. The plan was to have 1/2 a day Saturday devoted to disorder speaker issues, and the afternoon devoted to general short stature issues, regardless of disorder. Anyway. Will you talk about this on the RSS Adult listserve and let me know ASAP if anyone is interested in investigating this any further? Thanks! Guest guest
The feedback from the RSS adult listserve was that they did not want to participate in the MAGIC Adult convention, in so far as having specific RSS presentations put together. The AGHD adults are still gathering, in November, in Phoenix, AZ. She can contact MAGIC for more info. The feedback was that the adult RSS'ers would rather concentrate on 2006 and try and put something together at the regular convention, because they enjoy being with the little kids with RSS, too, and meeting all the parents. I thought that was pretty neat.
