Guest guest
Hi! First off... You will LOVE the convention!! I can't wait to meet you, Kyla and ! The dress is totally casual. Jeans, t-shirt, shorts, etc. The theme night this year is Western so you might want to bring some western wear for that (you don't have to though). And yes, both kids need to be in the daycare. It's just too hard to hear the speaker talking with kids fussing, crying and parents going in and out. There was the odd child in the seminars last year and one baby crying can draw everyone's attention in a flash, imagine 40 kids! lol!! This is our 2nd year going and the only change I'm going to make is to get a fridge in our room. The breakfast that is set up in the hallway by the conference rooms was quite pricey and there is a grocery store barely 2 blocks away so we're going to get bagels, fruit, etc... and avoid that cost. Other than that everything went so smoothly thanks to Jenn S, Katy, and all of the MAGIC ladies... there are so many who put time, energy and love into this weekend that it will blow your mind. Guest guest
Leah nailed everything on the head. Attire is casual ; the hotel presentation rooms can be cool so bring a cardigan or something you can remove if it is hot and put on if it is cool. Kids never seem to care. Children are not supposed to be in the presentation rooms. If a child has to be there for some specific reason, but can not be quiet, unfortunately, the parent will be asked to leave. This is simply because as Leah wrote, it is too distracting. The good news is that the childcare is a professional childcare company. This year they are also going to PRE-register the kids on Thursday night, to avoid the long lines on Friday morning. On Friday, the child goes into childcare for just 3 hours, then you bring them out for lunch, and then they go back in. The childcare is grouped by age, and they have the areas roped off for babies/toddlers. Different activities for the different age groups. Swimming suits are a MUST. Hotel has a gym for those who want to work out (sometimes I have gone at midnight and seen some parents in there!!). Many of us wear more casual clothes in the day, and then change clothes into a favorite shirt or themed-attire for the night events. I would be cold in shorts in the presentations though. Khakis or jeans type thing, short sleeved shirt and then some type of sweater.
