Guest guest
Marliyn mentioned a few weeks back about soy in eggs possibly causing allergies -- not the actual eggs themselves. (Yep, industrial chickees are fed soy in large amounts.) Maybe test to see if you are not allergic to soy-free eggs like Tropical Traditions sells online.... But, then again, it might not be the soy...so...dunno. > > I am returning to the scd after some years off. Since my previous experience I have become allergic to chicken eggs (both yolks and whites, whites more than yolks). Has anyone else experienced a change in the allergy or sensitivity once back on the scd? Is there hope I will eat eggs again? >

Many people find that after some healing of the gut takes place, allergies may be reduced or disappear completely. Some people also find that if they do not tolerate chicken eggs, they may handle duck or goose eggs. Plus, I was made aware recently, that commercial chicken feed now has lots of soy in it which turns up in the eggs. Since I am anaphylactic to soy, you better believe I'm looking into the Tropical Traditions soy-free eggs! SO those might, potentially, be an option for you. There are ways of doing SCD egg-free, but I'll admit that the folks on Pecanbread are better at it than I am. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
have become allergic to chicken eggs (both yolks and whites, whites more than yolks). Has anyone else experienced a change in the allergy or sensitivity once back on the scd? I found did have trouble with eggs and used them to try to gain weight (did burp and bloat ). Genova IGG test said allergic. Went off for 4 months and still trying to heal intestines.(what works? heard of zinc carnosine , glutamine(reacted to)). So tried again and found if eat raw, for example did a cooked peeled pear, raw egg white and cinnamin.blendered in those hand held blenders, was very good and seemed ok. tried cooked egg with chicken broth yesterday and not so good, but also added beetand macadamia brownies to rid of constipation and that caused pain. try a little if feels ok to and not very often. That is good idea, will look for duck and other eggs. Lynn
