Guest guest
Chris Don't forget to flush out your J-tube with Coke! You know, I was sent home with only instructions on how to clean the J-tube and not instructions that I could use it to feed myself liquid protein if I had needed to. That just makes me LOL & ROFL. Apparently, you were given proper instructions. I did like the feeling of the Coca Cola going in the J-tube though, felt kinda fizzy funny. Guest guest
Did any of Dr. Rabkins patients have a J tube? This is the first I have heard of it. Also, what about drains in general. When are they removed. Yikes, all these last minute questions that are freaking me out! If I couldn't eat as much as I can, I would be pouring ensure down it. We also get naso-gastric tubes in hospital which is weird, but it is an easy removal. The drains are the least of your worries, in my humble opinion. Nan E. DS 10/24/01 in CA with Anthone 358lbs at surgery. Doing Okay.
Guest guest
Not me. Just had my IV and catheter. Oh, and that oxygen nose thingy. I didn't mind having the catheter in. Kept me from having to jump up to go to the bathroom all the time. Also, I had 4 years earlier an ovarian cyst removed laparascopically and was totally incontinent right after surgery. Really wished I had a catheter then! I had the catheter in for about 4 days. Mainly because my kidneys were slow waking up. Kathleen F Open Duodenal Switch Drs.
