Well....we ended up not going. His ex informed him late last night that his

insurance was cancelled....so...we are back to square one. He can't afford

to self pay so we're going to have to do some thinking. He'll be on

disability eventually but could be awhile and then you have to wait two years

to get Medicare. He's pretty bummed today. I really feel for him.

I meant to also say congrats on your weight loss. You have done well!! I

just bought a scale from Staples for 130 bucks (great price!) and it goes to

400 but I am just 2 lbs shy of weighing at my dr office! Of course this is

much more convienent!! I'm sure I'll be weighing myself alot, I wasn't going

to buy a scale but I like to weigh on the monthly anniversary and then about

every other week or so...and also on my night for my support group..LOL I'll

have to lock it up the rest of the time!!!

Congrats on your loss! I bet you are looking great!

Is he unable to work and get on his own policy then, as you indicated

We're going to have to look around...he may have to wait till he gets on

disability...could be awhile. He's pretty bummed tonight.

my friend to help you out!

She went thru so much crap with medicaid and Heaps office not to mention one

surgeon locally in her area that I offered to help by making phone calls to

that surgeons office and getting some facts for her then I wrote a letter to

medicaid about that converstation and had it notorized and mailed

off....once they got it, she got moving to get the surgery. They can not

fight a notorized statement very easily! It was actually my statment of

facts VS what the surgeon had told her!

<<Unfortunately its under the domestic partner law in Oregon..he lived with

a

girlfriend and you can add your domestic partner on to your insurance there.

The problem is she can drop you and you dont get the option of COBRA...so

she

basically screwed him. She was suppose to wait till he had surgery...>>

Just a thought. Is this information from the ex or did anyone talk to the

company's insurance person? He might have to request the COBRA directly

himself.
